2024–25 New Jersey Devils Season
The 2024–25 New Jersey Devils season was the 51st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 11, 1974, and 43rd season since the franchise relocated from Colorado prior to the 1982–83 NHL season. On April 9, 2025, the Devils clinched a playoff spot after missing the playoffs the previous season following the New York Rangers loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. On April 29, the Devils were defeated by the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round of the playoffs in five games. Offseason The Devils made numerous personnel changes prior to the start of the season. Sheldon Keefe was hired as head coach, replacing interim head coach Travis Green. Following the draft, the Devils made a number of moves during the free agency period. The most noteworthy move came in an unexpected blockbuster deal that sent Akira Schmid to the Vegas Golden Knights, along with Alexander Holtz, in exchange for Paul Cotter. The National Hockey League's Metropolitan Division (often referred to simply as the "Metro Division") was formed in 2013 as one of the two divisions in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference as part of a league realignment. Jake Allen (ice Hockey)
Jake Allen (born August 7, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the second round, 34th overall, by the St. Louis Blues in the 2008 NHL entry draft and won the Stanley Cup with the Blues in 2019 Stanley Cup Finals, 2019. Allen has also previously played for the Montreal Canadiens. The 2024–25 Montreal Canadiens season was the franchise's 116th season since its establishment on December 4, 1909, and their 108th season (107th season of play) as member of the National Hockey League. Paul Cotter (born November 16, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey forward for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). Alexander Gabriel Holtz (born 23 January 2002) is a Swedish professional ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward for the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL). Travis Vernon Green (born December 20, 1970) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL).
