The 2024–25 Basketball Champions League was the 9th season of the Basketball Champions League (BCL), the European Professional sports, professional basketball competition for Sports club, clubs launched by FIBA. The season began on 1 October 2024 and ended on 11 May 2025. Baloncesto Málaga, Unicaja Málaga were the defending champions, and successfully defended their title by defeating Galatasaray S.K. Basketball Champions League
The Basketball Champions League (BCL), also commonly known as the FIBA Champions League, is an annual professional basketball competition for European sports club, clubs, organised by FIBA. It is the European professional club basketball system, top-level competition organised by FIBA Europe, therefore the champion participates in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Clubs qualify for the competition mostly based on performance in their national leagues and cup competitions. Although exceptional, some teams can be Wild card (sports), wildcarded. The 2023–24 Basketball Bundesliga, known as the easyCredit BBL for sponsorship reasons, was the 58th season of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the top-tier level of professional club basketball in Germany. Niners Chemnitz e.V., also named Chemnitz 99, is a German basketball club based in Chemnitz, Saxony. Currently, the team plays in the Basketball Bundesliga. Since its foundation in 1999, the team has played in Germany's lower divisions but moved up second division ProA in 2002. The Basketball Champions League rankings are the competition's criteria for ordering teams and leagues according to their performance with the aim to give an objective process for determining the participation of clubs each season. Ranking calculation The clubs receive 2 points for a win and no points for a defeat from the regular season and the following stages. Bonus points are added to the number of points scored in a season. Since the 2020–21 season, 3 points were awarded instead of 2 points for a regular season win due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the change of competition format.
