2024 Ýokary Liga
The 2024 Ýokary Liga was the 32nd edition of the top tier professional Yokary Liga football annual competition in Turkmenistan administered by the Football Federation of Turkmenistan. Season events Prior to the start of the league season, it was announced that the same nine teams that participated in the previous season, would participate in the 2024 season, beginning on 3 March. On 7 October, defending champions Arkadag successfully retained their title after a 5-1 victory over Nebitçi. Ýokary Liga
The Turkmenistan Higher League, also called Türkmenistan Ýokary Liga ( Turkmen: ''Ýokary liga futbol klublarynyň arasyndaky futbol boýunça Türkmenistanyň çempionaty''), is the top division of professional football in Turkmenistan, operated by the Turkmenistan Football Federation. It was founded in 1992. Nine clubs participate in the Higher League of the Turkmenistan National Championship. The season runs between April and November. There are 9 teams in the competition. As of the 2024 season, the league had one AFC Champions League Two qualifying spot for the league winner league. Since the introduction of the Turkmenistan Higher League in 1992, Altyn Asyr (8 times), Köpetdag (6 times), Nebitçi (4 times), Nisa (4 times), Ýedigen (4 times), Arkadag (2 times), Aşgabat (2 times), Ahal (1 time) and Şagadam (1 time) have won the title. Nebitçi Football Team () is a Turkmen professional football club based in Balkanabat. They compete in top division of Turkmen football, the Ýokary Liga. Their home stadium is Balkanabat Stadium which can hold 10,000 people. FC Energetik Mary
FC Energetik is a Turkmen professional association football club based in the Türkmenbaşy village, Mary Province. Founded in 2015, the club played its first-ever top flight season in 2015. The club finished in third position in 2016, their highest achievement. Name history *2010 : Founded as ''Kuwwat'' *2014 : Renamed ''Mary GES'' *2015 : Renamed ''Energetik'' History The team was established in 2010 as FC Kuwwat. Balkan Region
Balkan Region () is the westernmost of the five regions of Turkmenistan. Clockwise from north it borders Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan (north); two provinces of Turkmenistan (east), Iran (south), and the Caspian Sea (west). The capital city is Balkanabat, formerly known as Nebit Dag. The region's boundaries are identical to those of the former ''Krasnovodsk Oblast''', a Soviet-era province of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic with its capital in the city of Krasnovodsk. This oblast was liquidated and restored repeatedly in the 20th century, concluding with its abolition in 1988. Sport Toplumy (Balkanabat)
The Balkanabat Sports Complex or Sport Toplumy Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Balkanabat, Turkmenistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home for Nebitçi FT. The stadium holds 10,000 people. It is located near the Balkanabat Health Trail, in close proximity to the ridge of the Uly Balkan. History The sports complex opened on 14 October 2009. Construction works carried out by Turkish company Özaylar Inşaat on request Ministry of Sports of Turkmenistan. The project cost $20 million. Balkanabat
Balkanabat (), formerly Nebit-Dag and Neftedag, is the administrative centre of Balkan Province, the largest province in Turkmenistan. It lies at the foot of the Balkan Daglary mountain range. Balkanabat is about 450 km west of Ashgabat and 160 km east of the seaport city of Türkmenbaşy. The city layout is a grid of apartment blocks called ''kvartal'' (quarters). The main streets are Magtymguly, Pervomayskiy and Gurbansoltan eje şaýoly. Buzmeyin Sport Complex () is a stadium in Büzmeýin District, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It has a capacity of 10,000 people. It is the home of Ýokary Liga club Altyn Asyr FK. It was called Abadan Sport Complex until 2018. History The sports complex opened in June 2009 in Abadan city. Ashgabat (Turkmen language, Turkmen: ''Aşgabat'') is the capital city, capital and largest city of Turkmenistan. Football Club Altyn Asyr (), also known as Altyn Asyr Ashgabat or simply Altyn Asyr, which translates to ''Golden Century'', is a Turkmen professional football club based in Ashgabat. Founded in 2008, the club competes in the Ýokary Liga, the top tier of Turkmen football. The Ashgabat Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is currently used mostly for celebrations and football matches. The stadium holds 20,000 people and was built in 2011. Ýokary Liga football clubs of Turkmenistan hold their matches here. Anau, Turkmenistan
Anau (, ) is a city in Turkmenistan. Until 20 December 2022 it was the capital of Ahal Province. It is situated 8 km southeast of Ashgabat, to which it is connected via the M37 highway.
