2023–24 Ukrainian First League
The 2023–24 Ukrainian First League was the 33rd football league since its establishment. The league competition consisted of 20 teams. The competition is conducting during the ongoing war with the Russia since late February 2022. It was decided to conduct competitions in two groups. The competitions were officially approved by the Ukrainian Association of Football Executive Committee only two days before the start of the season. Matches of the First League were the first games of the 2023–24 season. Format Due to the Russo-Ukrainian War, the league competitions changed its usual format. The Professional Football League of Ukraine (PFL) Conference adopted changes to the 2022–23 season after some 24 PFL teams were forced to suspend their activities or dissolve. Ukrainian First League
The Persha Liha ( ) or Ukrainian First League is a Ukrainian football league system, level of national football competitions (second tier) in Ukraine governed by the Professional Football League of Ukraine, Professional Football League at the discretion of the Ukrainian Association of Football. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. The league is the intermediate level of competitions within the three-tiered "competition pyramid". FSC Mariupol
FSC Mariupol () is a Ukrainian professional association football, football club based in the city of Mariupol. The team currently plays in the Ukrainian First League. The club currently plays its home games near Kyiv in Demydiv (Dinaz Stadium, 2022–23 Ukrainian First League, 2022–23) and Boryspil (Kolos Stadium (Boryspil), Kolos Stadium, 2023–24 Ukrainian First League, 2023–24), due to the Siege of Mariupol, destruction and occupation of Mariupol by Russia. Uman

Football Club Metalist Kharkiv, also known as Football Club Metalist Kharkov or FC Metalist Kharkov ( ), is a Ukrainian professional Association football, football club based in Kharkiv that plays in the Ukrainian First League during the 2023–24 Ukrainian First League, 2023–24 season. 2022–23 Ukrainian Premier League
The 2022–23 Ukrainian Premier League season, referred to as the VBet Liha for sponsorship reasons, was the 32nd top-level football club competition since the fall of the Soviet Union and the 15th since the establishment of the Ukrainian Premier League. The defending champions were the 16-time winners Dynamo Kyiv. The previous 2021–22 season was abandoned due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Although Shakhtar Donetsk were at the top of the table when the league was abandoned, no title was officially awarded ("The handing out of awards to the league's medalists will not take place"). Football Club Alians was a Ukrainian football club based in Lypova Dolyna, Sumy Oblast, in north-eastern Ukraine, founded in 2016. Football Club Viktoriya Sumy () is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Sumy. The club competes in the Ukrainian First League, the second division of Ukrainian football. Founded in 2015 as Football Club Viktoriya Mykolaivka, the club merged with FC Alians Lypova Dolyna in 2022 and subsequently relocated from Arena Viktoriya in Mykolaivka to Yuvileiny Stadium in Sumy. 2021–22 Ukrainian Second League
The 2021–22 Ukrainian Second League was the 31st season since its establishment. The competition was terminated at the PFL Council meeting on 6 May 2022 due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Summary On June 1, 2021, the PFL Central Council adopted decision that new season competitions in the PFL Second League would start on July 25, 2021, just as competitions in all professional leagues in Ukraine. The competition format and league composition corresponds to the PFL program "Strategy of Development" that was adopted back in 2016.
