2023 WTA Finals – Singles
Iga Świątek defeated Jessica Pegula in the final, 6–1, 6–0 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 WTA Finals. Świątek did not lose a match throughout the entire tournament, the first player to do so since Elina Svitolina in 2018. Furthermore, she also did not drop a set throughout the entire tournament, the first to do so since Serena Williams in 2012. Świątek dropped just 20 games throughout the entire tournament, the fewest since the reintroduction of the round-robin format in 2003. The WTA Finals (formerly known as the WTA Tour Championships or WTA Championships) is the season-ending championship of the WTA Tour. It is the most significant tennis event in the women's annual calendar after the four majors, as it features the top eight singles players and top eight doubles teams based on their results throughout the season. The eighth spot is reserved, if needed, for a player or team who won a major in the current year and is ranked from ninth to twentieth.
