The 2022 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix was a women's professional tennis tournament played on indoor clay courts at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany, from 18 to 24 April 2022. It was the 44th edition of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix and is classified as a WTA 500 tournament on the 2022 WTA Tour. WTA 500 Tournaments
WTA 500 tournaments is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. At their introduction in 2021, WTA 500 tournaments' prize money was approximately $500,000. Since then, prize money awarded by WTA 500 events has grown less uniform, with one tournament's prize money rising to as much as $1.5 million. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 500. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 250 for winning a WTA 250 tournament. Karolína Plíšková
Karolína Plíšková (; born 21 March 1992) is a Czech professional tennis player. She has been ranked as the world No. 1 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), holding the position for a total of eight weeks, and has been ranked world No. 11 in doubles. Eva Lys (; born 12 January 2002) is a German professional tennis player. Lys reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 59 on 19 May 2025. Personal life She was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and moved to Germany at the age of 2.
