The 2019–20 Biathlon World Cup (BWC) was a multi-race series over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. Selina Gasparin
Selina Gasparin (born 3 April 1984) is a Swiss former biathlete. Biography She won a silver medal in the Individual at 2014 Winter Olympics. Gasparin competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Switzerland. Her best performance was 40th in the individual. She also finished 56th in the sprint and 48th in the pursuit. As of February 2013, her best performance at the Biathlon World Championships was 10th, as part of the 2012 Swiss mixed relay team. Her best individual performance is 12th in the 2012 sprint. As of February 2013, Gasparin's best individual performance in the Biathlon World Cup is 4th in the individual at Östersund in 2012/13. Mona Brorsson (born 28 March 1990) is a Swedish former biathlete. She was part of the Swedish Olympic champion relay team in 2022. She competed in the World Cup for more than ten seasons representing Sweden. She has expressed her intentions to retire after the 2023/24 World Cup season. Vanessa Hinz
Vanessa Hinz (born 24 March 1992) is a former German biathlete and cross-country skier. Hinz started in her first world cup races at the end of the 2012/13-season. At the 2013 European Championships she won a gold medal with the German relay team. In 2014, she participated in the Winter Olympics in Sochi. She was officially nominated by the DOSB on 23 January 2014, but not taken with the team to Russia. So she had to wait at home as stand-by reserve. Linn Gestblom (; born 27 June 1994) is a Swedish biathlete. She has competed in the World Cup, and represented Sweden at the 2016 World Championships. Franziska Preuß (also spelled Preuss, born 11 March 1994) is a German biathlete and the World Cup winner of the 2024–25 season. She made her World Cup debut during the 2013–14 season and represented Germany at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Preuß has won gold medals at the Biathlon World Championships, triumphing in the relay in 2015 and the pursuit in 2025. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (born 4 July 1996) is a French biathlete, Olympic champion in the 12.5 km mass start at the 2022 Beijing Games and medalist at the Winter Olympics 2018 and World Championships. Biography Justine Braisaz began her biathlon career at the Saisies Sports Club. She quickly moved to the Nordic section to practice cross-country skiing and biathlon. During the 2011/2012 season, in the Cadette U16 category, she won the French Championship of cross-country skiing and the French Championship of Biathlon, thanks to her speed on skis. Kaisa Mäkäräinen
Kaisa Leena Mäkäräinen (born 11 January 1983) is a Finnish former world-champion and 3-time world-cup-winning biathlete, who currently competes for Kontiolahden Urheilijat. Outside sports, Mäkäräinen is currently studying to be a Physics teacher at the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu. Her team coach is Jonne Kähkönen, while Jarmo Punkkinen is her ski coach. Career Mäkäräinen was originally a cross-country skier and focused on this until the age of twenty. She started training for the biathlon in 2003. In 2004, she made the Finnish National Team. 2005 saw Mäkäräinen compete at the Biathlon World Championships for the first time. The Biathlon World Championships 2020 took place in Rasen-Antholz, Italy, from 12 to 23 February 2020. Host selection On 4 September 2016, Antholz-Anterselva won the voting (30 votes) during the twelfth IBU Congress in Chișinău over Pokljuka (15 votes) and Oberhof, Germany (four votes).
