2019–20 Biathlon World Cup
The 2019–20 Biathlon World Cup (BWC) was a multi-race series over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season started on 30 November 2019 in Östersund, Sweden and ended on 14 March 2020 in Kontiolahti, Finland, a week and a day earlier than planned. Johannes Thingnes Bø
Johannes Thingnes Bø (born 16 May 1993) is a former Norwegians, Norwegian Biathlon, biathlete who has achieved significant success in the sport. Thingnes Bø has won the Biathlon World Cup five times, in the 2018-19 Biathlon World Cup, 2018/19, 2019–20 Biathlon World Cup, 2019/20, 2020–21 Biathlon World Cup, 2020/21, 2022–23 Biathlon World Cup, 2022/23, and 2023–24 Biathlon World Cup, 2023/24 seasons. He is the male biathlete with the second most individual World Cup victories in history, totaling 91, including victories at the Winter Olympic Games. Career Early career (2009–2019) In 2009, Johannes Thingnes Bø competed in the sprint at the Hovedlandsrennet in Beitostølen, securing a medal in the relay alongside Jarle Midthjell Gjørven, Runar Netland, and Johan Eirik Meland. Biathlon World Championships 2020
The Biathlon World Championships 2020 took place in Rasen-Antholz, Italy, from 12 to 23 February 2020. Host selection On 4 September 2016, Antholz-Anterselva won the voting (30 votes) during the twelfth IBU Congress in Chișinău over Pokljuka (15 votes) and Oberhof, Germany (four votes). Rasen-Antholz
Rasen-Antholz (; ) is a municipality in South Tyrol in northern Italy. Geography The municipal area stretches along the Antholz valley, a northern side valley of the larger Puster Valley. In the northeast, the Staller Saddle mountain pass, at a height of leads into the Defereggen Valley in East Tyrol, Austria. The Antholz valley is confined by the mountains of the Rieserferner Group in the north and the Villgraten Mountains in the east, both part of the High Tauern range in the Central Eastern Alps. Pokljuka
The Pokljuka Plateau () is a forested karst plateau at an elevation of around , located in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. The plateau is known for its forests, pasture, mountain pastures (Javornik, Lipanca, Uskovnica, Zajamniki, etc.), and winter sports facilities. It is also a common starting point for mountain hiking, hikers. The yearly Biathlon World Cup meets are held at the Pokljuka Biathlon Center, west of the town of Bled ( by car). Ruhpolding is the municipality with the biggest area of the Traunstein (district), Traunstein district in southeastern Bavaria, Germany. Oberhof is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen Districts of Germany, district of Thuringia, Germany. Located in the Thuringian Forest mountain range, it is a winter sports center and destination spa, health resort. Le Grand-Bornand (; ) is a commune in the eastern French department of Haute-Savoie. The commune is a ski resort and takes its name from the river that runs through it.
