The National Hockey League's Metropolitan Division (often referred to simply as the "Metro Division") was formed in 2013 as one of the two divisions in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference as part of a league realignment. The 2015–16 Ottawa Senators season was the Ottawa Senators seasons, 24th season of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Senators, along with all other Canadian teams, failed to make the playoffs. A major trade was made during the season to bring Dion Phaneuf to the Senators and improve the team defence, but the team was not able to make a run to secure a playoff spot. Keith Patrick Kinkaid (born July 4, 1989) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Savannah Ghost Pirates of the ECHL while under contract to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Originally undrafted by teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), Kinkaid has previously played for the New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, and Colorado Avalanche.
