2015 İstanbul Cup
The 2015 İstanbul Cup (also known as the TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 8th edition of the İstanbul Cup, and part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2015 WTA Tour. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, from July 20 through July 27, 2015. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International tournaments was a category for tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. As of 2021 these events have been reclassified as WTA 250 tournaments. The winner of a WTA 250 tournament adds 250 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2025 WTA Tour, 2025 season, there were 20 WTA 250, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,094. Çağla Büyükakçay
Çağla Büyükakçay (; born 28 September 1989) is a Turkish professional tennis player. She won her first title at her home tournament in Istanbul becoming the first Turkish woman to lift a WTA Tour title. She has won 12 singles and 15 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In September 2016, she reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 60. On 29 February 2016, she peaked at world No. 111 in the WTA doubles rankings. Playing for Turkey in the Billie Jean King Cup, Büyükakçay has a win–loss record of 42–33 (as of July 2024). Büyükakçay was the first tennis player to represent Turkey at the Olympic Games. Kirsten "Flipper" Flipkens (; born 10 January 1986) is a Belgian tennis coach and a former professional player. She reached a career-high ranking of No. 13 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Yanina Wickmayer (born 20 October 1989) is a Belgian professional tennis player. She reached the semifinals at the 2009 US Open – Women's singles, 2009 US Open, and a career-high WTA ranking of No. 12, on 19 April 2010. Yaroslava Vyacheslavovna Shvedova (; born 12 September 1987) is a Kazakhstani former professional tennis player. Before 2008, she represented her country of birth, Russia. Olga Mykolayivna Savchuk (; born 20 September 1987) is a retired tennis player from Ukraine. Savchuk grew up in the city of Makiyivka in Donetsk province. She resides in Nassau, Bahamas.
