2014 İstanbul Cup
The 2014 İstanbul Cup (also known as the TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 7th edition of the İstanbul Cup, and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2014 WTA Tour. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, from 14 July through 20 July 2014. This was the first edition of the tournament since 2010. The event was not held in 2011–2013 because the WTA Tour Championships were held in İstanbul during those years. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International tournaments was a category for tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. As of 2021 these events have been reclassified as WTA 250 tournaments. The winner of a WTA 250 tournament adds 250 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2025 WTA Tour, 2025 season, there were 20 WTA 250, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,094. Çağla Büyükakçay
Çağla Büyükakçay (; born 28 September 1989) is a Turkish professional tennis player. She won her first title at her home tournament in Istanbul becoming the first Turkish woman to lift a WTA Tour title. She has won 12 singles and 15 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In September 2016, she reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 60. On 29 February 2016, she peaked at world No. 111 in the WTA doubles rankings. Playing for Turkey in the Billie Jean King Cup, Büyükakçay has a win–loss record of 42–33 (as of July 2024). Büyükakçay was the first tennis player to represent Turkey at the Olympic Games. Born in Tuzla, SFR Yugoslavia, to Serbian father Zoran and Bosniak mother Amira, she moved to Germany at six months old and turned professional in 2006 at the age of 18. Kateryna Baindl (, née Kozlova ; born 20 February 1994) is a Ukrainian inactive tennis player. On 19 February 2018, she achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 62. On 22 October 2012, she peaked at No. 139 in the doubles rankings.
