1997–98 Slovak Cup
The 1997–98 Slovak Cup was the 29th season of Slovakia's annual knock-out cup competition and the fifth since the independence of Slovakia. It began on 29 July 1997 with the matches of preliminary round and ended on 7 June 1998 with the final. The winners of the competition earned a place in the 1998–99 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup#Qualifying round, qualifying round of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. ŠK Slovan Bratislava, Slovan Bratislava were the defending champions. Preliminary round The first legs were played on 29 July 1997. The second legs were played on 19 August 1997. First round The games were played on 28 and 29 October 1997. Second round The games were played on 11 and 12 November 1997. Quarter-finals The games were played on 17 and 18 March 1998. FC Spartak Trnava () is a professional Football club (association football), football club based in Trnava, Slovakia. FC Baník Prievidza is a Slovak football club, playing in the town of Prievidza. Between 1993 and 2000, Prievidza played in the highest level of Slovak football, the Corgoň liga. Following the 2006–07 season, HFK Prievidza was promoted to the Slovak First League (second level of Slovak football). The club finished in 6th place for the 2007–08 season. PFK Piešťany is a Slovakia, Slovak Football club (association football), football club that has been operating in the city of Piešťany since 1912.
