Å koda Felicia Kit Car
Škoda Felicia Kit Car was the successor to successful racing version of the Škoda Felicia. Its engine was based on serial engine with improved suction and new exhaust and with different cylinders and bigger stroke. The only disadvantage was two valve technology, so Škoda Motorsport asked the FIA for change in regulations so they could improve their engines. They succeeded and were able to build more powerful engines. Škoda Felicia Kit Car was available in three versions - 1,3l (1994–95), 1,5l (1994–96) and 1,6l (1996–97), that produced at 7800 rpm (1,3l). In mid-1995 it was replaced by an engine at 7000 rpm (1,5l) and until 1996 its performance was increased to at 7500 rpm. At the end of 1996 it was replaced by an engine at 8000 rpm (1,6l). They were combined with 6-speed H-shift transmissions. 48 Felicia Kit Cars were built in Škoda Motorsport ŠKODA Motorsport is the sports factory team of the car manufacturer Škoda Auto, currently focusing on the development ...

Å koda Felicia
The Å koda Felicia (''Typ'' 781 and 791) is a B-segment car produced by the Czech carmaker Å koda Auto from 1994 to 2001. It was the last model on Å koda's own platform, but was one of the first models to benefit from Å koda Auto's takeover by the German company Volkswagen Group. The Felicia was a heavily reworked version of the Favorit, retaining its core structure but with new outer panelwork to give it a fresh, more modern appearance, with a redesigned front end and a wider range of VW-sourced engines. It was premiered in October 1994, on the Charles Bridge in Prague. Serial production of the hatchback began in October 1994, the Combi in June 1995, and the pick up in August 1995. Production ended in June 2001. The name Felicia was not used for the first time, resurrecting a nameplate originally used by Å koda in the 1960s for a range of two seater sports cars. History As the Felicia benefited from Volkswagen input, it helped to elevate Å koda's image in Western Europe. It her ...

Engine
An engine or motor is a machine designed to convert one or more forms of energy into mechanical energy. Available energy sources include potential energy (e.g. energy of the Earth's gravitational field as exploited in hydroelectric power generation), heat energy (e.g. geothermal), chemical energy, electric potential and nuclear energy (from nuclear fission or nuclear fusion). Many of these processes generate heat as an intermediate energy form; thus heat engines have special importance. Some natural processes, such as atmospheric convection cells convert environmental heat into motion (e.g. in the form of rising air currents). Mechanical energy is of particular importance in transportation, but also plays a role in many industrial processes such as cutting, grinding, crushing, and mixing. Mechanical heat engines convert heat into work via various thermodynamic processes. The internal combustion engine is perhaps the most common example of a mechanical heat engine in wh ...

Exhaust System
An exhaust system is used to guide reaction exhaust gases away from a controlled combustion inside an engine or stove. The entire system conveys burnt gases from the engine and includes one or more exhaust pipes. Depending on the overall system design, the exhaust gas may flow through one or more of the following: * Cylinder head and exhaust manifold *A turbocharger to increase engine power. *A catalytic converter to reduce air pollution. *A muffler (North America) / silencer (UK/India), to reduce noise. Design criteria An exhaust pipe must be carefully designed to carry toxic and noxious gases away from the users of the machine. Indoor generators and furnaces can quickly fill an enclosed space with poisonous exhaust gases such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, if they are not properly vented to the outdoors. Also, the gases from most machines are scorching; the pipe must be heat-resistant and not pass through or near anything that can burn or be da ...

Cylinder (engine)
In an engine, the cylinder is the space in which a piston travels. The inner surface of the cylinder is formed from either a thin metallic liner (also called "sleeve") or a surface coating applied to the engine block. A piston is seated inside each cylinder by several metal piston rings, which also provide seals for compression and the lubricating oil. The piston rings do not actually touch the cylinder walls, instead they ride on a thin layer of lubricating oil. Steam engines The cylinder in a steam engine is made pressure-tight with end covers and a piston; a valve distributes the steam to the ends of the cylinder. Cylinders were cast in cast iron and later in steel. The cylinder casting can include other features such as valve ports and mounting feet. Internal combustion engines The cylinder is the space through which the piston travels, propelled by the energy generated from the combustion of the air/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. In an air-cooled e ...
