Åžirinyer Railway Station
Şirinyer railway station () is an underground railway station of the İZBAN commuter rail system. The current station was built between 2006–09 and opened on 30 August 2010. The former station was opened in 1858 by the Ottoman Railway Company and was taken over by the Turkish State Railways in 1935. Before the 1950s, Şirinyer was known as ''Kızılçullu Durağı''. The proposed M2 (İzmir Metro), Üçyol—Çamlıkule Line (M2 Line) of the İzmir Metro will have Şirinyer (İzmir Metro), an underground station at Şirinyer. Construction of the station is expected to begin in 2018 and enter operation in 2022. İZBAN, previously known as Egeray, is a commuter rail system serving İzmir and its metropolitan area. Averaging a daily ridership of 185,000 passengers, it is the busiest commuter rail system in Turkey, slightly ahead of the Marmaray commuter line in Istanbul. İZBAN is a portmanteau of the words "İzmir" and "Banliyö" (''suburb'' in Turkish). Established in 2007 and began operations in 2010, İZBAN was formed to revive old commuter rail in İzmir. , İZBAN operates a long system, with 41 stations. Åžirinyer (Ä°zmir Metro)
Şirinyer is a proposed underground station on the Üçyol—Çamlıkule Line of the İzmir Metro. It will be located beneath Mehmet Akif Avenue, next to the Şirinyer railway station, in western Buca. Construction of the station, along with the metro line, is expected to begin in 2020. Connection to İZBAN commuter rail service will be available from the station. Once complete, Şirinyer will become the fourth station on the İzmir Metro to have direct connection to heavy rail service, along with Basmane, Hilal and Halkapınar. The İzmir Metro () is a Medium-capacity rail system, light metro system serving the city of İzmir, Turkey. The current system, consisting of M1 (İzmir Metro), one line, starts from Narlıdere Kaymakamlık station in the southwestern portion of the metropolitan area and runs towards northeast to end at Evka 3 (İzmir Metro), Evka-3 in Bornova. İzmir's metro line is long, and serves 24 stations as of 4 March 2024. The M2 line, also referred as Üçyol–Çamlıkule Line () is a planned ATO rapid transit line in İzmir, Turkey. The line has a total length of and would begin at Üçyol and run southeast into Buca. When completed, the line will become the seventh driverless metro line in Turkey, and the first in Izmir, after the M5, M7, M8, M11, M12 and M14 lines in Istanbul. Ottoman Railway Company
The Ottoman Railway Company, commonly referred to as the İzmir–Aydın Railway (), is the oldest railway in Anatolia and second oldest railway in the Ottoman Empire. The railway was built by a British company to transport mineral and fruit (primarily figs) from the Aydın plain to the Port of İzmir to be exported. The railway also played an important role in operating commuter rail service throughout southern İzmir. By 1912 the railway was operating 3 commuter routes within the city. The main goal of the ORC was to build a line to Aydın, however once the railway got concessions to extend their mainline, they quickly started to dominate the rail industry in İzmir. They extended their mainline to Denizli and then to Eğirdir by 1912 as well as building branch lines to towns in the İzmir province.
