Đặng Dung
Đặng Dung (Chữ Hán: 鄧容, 1373–1414) was the poet and general of the later Tran Dynasty in Vietnamese history. Biography Đặng Dung was born in Ta Ha Commune, Thien Loc District, Nghe An (now Can Loc District, Ha Tinh Province). He was the eldest son of Dang Tat. During the short-lived Ho dynasty, Đặng Dung assisted his father in governing Thuận Hóa. However, when the Ming army occupied the country (then known as Đại Ngu), the Hồ Dynasty collapsed. In response, Đặng Dung and his father participated in the insurrection led by Trần Ngỗi, also known as Giản Định Đế. They were officially used in Vietnam after the Red River Delta region was incorporated into the Han dynasty and continued to be used until the early 20th century. Emperor Giản Định (, vi-hantu, 簡定帝, 1375–1410), real name Trần Ngỗi (陳頠), was the leader of the Vietnamese Later Trần dynasty, Trần royalist forces who rebelled against the Fourth Era of Northern Domination, Ming Chinese rule. Giản Định was the second son of Trần Nghệ Tông, was given the title Giản Định vương (簡定王, "Prince Giản Định"). Ming China Ming–Hồ War, conquered Vietnam in 1407, he fled to Mô Độ (modern Yên Mô District, Ninh Bình Province) and revolted against China in September 1408. At first he was defeated by Chinese army, later, he was supported by two Vietnamese generals, Đặng Tất and Nguyễn Cảnh Chân, and occupied Nghệ An Province successfully. Giản Định decided to attack Đông Đô (modern Hanoi) but was opposed by Đặng Tất and Nguyễn Cảnh Chân. The Fourth Era of Northern Domination () was a period of Vietnamese history, from 1407 to 1428, during which Ming-dynasty China ruled Vietnam as the province of Jiaozhi (Giao Chỉ). The Ming established their rule in Vietnam following their conquest of the Hồ dynasty in 1406-1407.
