Özlem Türeci (; born 6 March 1967) is a German physician, scientist and entrepreneur. In 2008, she co-founded the biotechnology company BioNTech, which in 2020 developed the first messenger RNA-based vaccine approved for use against Coronavirus disease 2019, COVID-19. Özlem Yalman (born 30 April 1977) is a Turkish female pro basketball referee, a former basketball player, and a school teacher for physical education. Early years Özlem was born in Adana, Turkey in 1977. She studied Physical Education and Sports at Ege University in İzmir.
