Ängelby
''Ängelby'' is a Swedish television drama series created by Johan Kindblom and Tomas Tivemark, first broadcast by SVT in 2015. The series, which premiered on 28 September 2015 on SVT1 and was broadcast on ITV Encore in the UK from 31 August 2016, follows Vera Fors (Mia Skäringer), an ordinary mother-of-two whose life is turned upside down by a tragic event. After her husband has an affair with another woman, Vera loses the job that her husband got her, and desperately seeking new employment, she responds to a job vacancy in Ängelby, a small remote suburban city. As Vera seeks the opportunity to start a new life, she makes the decision to take the children and move to Ängelby. But on the way, tragedy strikes when Vera appears to hit and kill a teenage ice-hockey star. In shock, Vera runs from the crime scene, but when she reports the incident to the police the next day, she discovers the boy's body has disappeared. ITV Encore was a British drama pay television channel in the United Kingdom that was owned by ITV Digital Channels Ltd, a division of ITV plc. The channel was exclusive to Sky's digital satellite platform, Sky Go, Now TV, and Sky Store. The channel closed on 1 May 2018, becoming an on-demand only service available on other platforms as well as Sky. History Launch ITV Encore launched at 7pm on 9 June 2014. Mia Skäringer
Maria Elisabeth "Mia" Skäringer (born October 4, 1976) is a Swedish actress and comedian who has twice won the Kristallen Award. Her first television job was at the ''Sanning och konsekvens'' show on ZTV, where she met Klara Zimmergren. Skäringer and Zimmergren after that hosted the radio show Roll on together. The duo has also had their own sketch comedy show on SVT in Sweden called ''Mia och Klara''. The show was awarded a Kristallen award for best comedy show on television in both 2008 and 2009. She has starred as Anna Svensson in '' Solsidan'' since 2010. Early life Skäringer wanted to be an actress from the age of four and became active at her local theater in Kristinehamn. Skäringer describes herself as a "small girl, quite heavy and a tom-boy" when she was younger. Göran Ragnerstam
Göran Axel Ragnerstam (born 7 November 1957 ) is a Swedish actor. Ragnerstam was born in Stockholm; he grew up in Södermalm and later in Vällingby. His father was interested in theatre and acted out for his children. He encouraged Ragnerstam to move on to an acting course. Ragnerstam took part in plays in primary school primary education and secondary school. After that he worked on Posten AB, before he did military service conscription. An ad about training to be an actor got him to study at Kulturama, and after that he studied at NAMA in Malmö 1981–1984. After that he was involved in the Gothenburg City Theatre. Joel Boris Spira (born 18 July 1981) is a Swedish film, television, and theatre actor. Personal While studying biology at the Stockholm University Spira decided to give acting a chance. After just spending one semester at Spegelteatern in Stockholm he applied to the well respected Malmö Theatre Academy where he got immediately accepted. He graduated in 2007. SVT1 (SVT Ett; commonly referred to as Ettan) is the primary television station of the Swedish public service broadcaster Sveriges Television in Sweden.
