Professional wrestling style and persona

Naito was previously a babyface dubbed the "Stardust Genius". But after winning the 2013 G1 Climax, fans immediately rejected his main-event push and his babyface character felt flat. This would go on for the next two years until he decided to join Los Ingobernables in May 2015 during a tour with CMLL. When Naito returned in June, he drastically developed an unlikable attitude and became indifferent against the fans for turning on him. This change improved the fan reception and established Naito as one of New Japan's premiere main-eventers. Naito finishing move is the ''Destino'', a backflip inverted DDT; he previously used a corkscrew moonsault called the ''Stardust Press'' in 2008 to 2015 during his time as a face.
