Gran Alternativa 2009
The ''Torneo Gran Alternativa'' (2009) was a professional wrestling major show event produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) that took place on September 26, 2009 in Arena Mexico, Mexico City, Mexico. The show featured the 2009 version of CMLL's '' Torneo Gran Alternativa'' (Spanish for "the Great Alternative tournament), a tournament where an established CMLL star teams with a ''Novato'' or rookie in a tag team tournament. None of the ''Novatos'' in the 2009 tournament had participated in previous ''Gran Alternativas''. The teams were Místico and Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther and Rey Cometa, Héctor Garza and Ángel de Plata, Atlantis and Camorra, Mr. Niebla and Tiger Kid, Averno and Pólvora, Toscano and Rouge and finally Yujiro and Shigeo Okumura. Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre Co., Ltd. (CMLL; , "World Wrestling Council") is a ''lucha libre'' professional wrestling promotion based in Mexico City. The promotion was previously known as ''Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre'' (''EMLL'') (''Mexican Wrestling Enterprise''). Tiger (born February 12, 1987) is a Mexican ''Luchador'' '' enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler, working for the Mexico City based professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) under the name of Felino Jr.. He was previously known by the ring name Tiger Kid (sometimes spelled Tiger Kidd), but the name was shortened in June 2011. He frequently teams with his brother, ''luchador'' Puma. The Mexican National Lightweight Championship (''Campeonato Nacional de Peso Ligero'' in Spanish) is a Mexican professional wrestling singles championship created and sanctioned by ''Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F.'' ("the Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission" in Spanish). Although the Commission sanctions the title, it does not promote the events in which the title is defended. Pierrothito (real name unrevealed; born October 2, 1967) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado, or masked professional wrestler. Pierrothito is a part of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre's (CMLL) Mini-Estrella, or "Mini", division and is a former CMLL World Mini-Estrella Champion. He is also the first Mini to have held the Mexican National Lightweight Championship. Pierrothito is Spanish for "Little Pierroth", alluding to the fact that he wrestles as a mini version of Pierroth, Jr.; he is sometimes billed as "Mini Pierroth" or "Pequeño Pierroth". Jushin Thunder Liger

CMLL World Heavyweight Championship
The CMLL World Heavyweight Championship ( es, Campeonato Mundial de Peso Completo del CMLL) is a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship established in 1991 and promoted by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). CMLL introduced the championship to signal their independence from the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), whose titles they had continued to promote after leaving the alliance in the late 1980s. As part of the move away from the NWA, CMLL established championships designated as "CMLL World Championships" for several weight divisions. The Heavyweight Championship was the first CMLL title to be created, and the inaugural champion was Konnan el Bárbaro, who won the title on June 9, 1991. is a Japanese professional wrestler who works for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and is billed as Okumura.
