McGeehin was part of a group of seven (the others being Pauric Gallagher, Jimmy Kennedy, Michael McBrearty, Charlie McGeever, Donnacha Mac Niallais and Seamus Meehan) who would travel back and forth from Thomond College of Education, Limerick
