Eight clubs competed for the League Championship, with Armadale, Belle Vue, Berwick, Kent, Leicester and champions Mildenhall all returning. Kent would switch venues from Central Park Stadium to the Iwade Speedway Stadium and would only enter the Royals in the National League.
