Jordan Jenkins (speedway Rider)
Jordan Jenkins (born 2 August 2001) is an English speedway rider who rides in all three tiers of British Speedway. Career He began his British career riding for the Mildenhall Fen Tigers in 2016. He rode for Kent Kings during 2019, although he did ride a couple of meetings for Birmingham in the division above. Jenkins was made captain of the Mildenhall Fen Tigers in 2021 and led the team to the National Development League Championship. For the 2022 season, Jenkins signed for the newly reformed Oxford Cheetahs National Development team called the Oxford Chargers and was made captain of the team. In September 2022, he won the National League Riders' Championship. Also in 2022, he continued to ride for the Redcar Bears and signed for the Peterborough Panthers in the top tier SGB Premiership mid-way through the season. The 2022 SGB Premiership was the 87th season of the top tier of British Speedway and the 5th known as the SGB Premiership. Sheffield Tigers topped the regular season table and met Belle Vue Aces in the play off final but Belle Vue ran out the winners to claim their 13th league title. 2022 Summary The same six clubs as 2021 competed for the league championship, with Swindon once again sitting out due to the development of their stadium. The Rising Star scheme introduced in 2021, has been extended for the 2022 season, allowing clubs to select an additional Rising Star rider as a 'Number 8' for the season. The 2023 Sports Insure SGB Premiership is the 88th season of the top tier of British speedway and the 6th known as the SGB Premiership. There was an increase of one team after the Leicester Lions opted to move up from the SGB Championship. 2023 summary Seven clubs will compete for the league championship, with Leicester Lions joining the from the division below. Each club will race against each other four times (home and away twice), meaning a total of 24 fixtures each. The 'Super Heat' scoring system was retained from the 2022 season, however extra points for away fixtures have been scrapped in favour of an aggregate bonus point. The top four teams in the league will qualify for the playoffs, with the two semi-final winners then reaching the Grand Final. The 2023 National Development League is the third division/tier of British speedway for the 2023 season. It is a semi-professional development league, containing mainly the junior sides of SGB Premiership and SGB Championship clubs. Leicester Lion Cubs will defend the title.
