The Orioles pitching staff combined for a franchise-worst ERA of 5.84 and yielded 911 earned runs in the season, which led the MLB and was the most earned runs surrendered by a pitching staff since the 2001 Texas Rangers allowed 913 earned runs. They suffered their 3rd 100+ loss season in four years with their loss to the Boston Red Sox on September 17th.
