Ülo Krigul
Ülo Krigul (born 7 November 1978 in Tallinn) is an Estonian composer. In 1997 he graduated from Tallinn Music High School. In 2006 he graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre specialising in composition. He has been a music organizer; from 1995 to 1999 he belonged to the staff of the jazz festival Jazzkaar. From 2005 to 2014 he was one of the artistic directors of the Estonian Music Days. He has also been a member (being a keyboard player or arranger) of several rock and jazz ensembles, e.g. Compromise Blue and Contus Firmus. Since 2003 he has been a member of the Estonian Composers' Union. Tallinn Music High School
Tallinn Music High School ( et, Tallinna Muusikakeskkool) is a special music high school in Tallinn, Estonia. History TMHS was founded in 1961 to ensure a sufficient number of quality applicants to the Tallinn State Conservatory (now Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre). It has successfully fulfilled its goal, as 80-100% of graduates continue their studies at EAMT or at other music academies abroad. TMHS is the only school in Estonia that provides a professional music education alongside the general primary and secondary curriculum. This system prepares students for a career in music or in any other field. There are 38 senior teachers and 23 teachers on staff with qualifications to teach at the university level. Estonian Academy Of Music And Theatre
The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (''Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemia'') began as a mixed choir of the Estonia Society Musical Department (EMD) on the eve of World War I. The assembly of the Estonia Society created the Tallinn Higher Music School on November 17, 1918. The opening ceremony took place on September 28, 1919. In 1923 the educational institution was renamed the Tallinn Conservatoire. In 1938 the State Drama School was opened. In 1993 the school was renamed the “Estonian Academy of Music”. In 1995 the Drama Faculty was renamed the Higher Theatre School. Jazzkaar
Jazzkaar ( et, Jazzkaar) is an Estonian music festival which focuses on jazz music. This festival is the biggest jazz festival in Baltic states. First festival took place in 1990. In general, the festival lasts 10 days and during this period about 3000 foreign artists from about 60 countries participate. Estonian Music Days ( et, Eesti muusika päevad) is a music festival which focuses on Estonian contemporary music. Since 1993 the festival take place annually and in spring. The festival is organized by Estonian Composers' Union in collaboration with Estonian Music Information Centre ( :et) and with other institutions. First festival took place in 1979 in Tallinn under the auspices of Estonian Composers' Union. First festival lasted 10 days and during the festival, 18 concerts, 8 theatrical performances, press conference were presented. In 1981 the festival was organized as ''Tallinn Music Days''. Vambola Krigul
Vambola Krigul (born 12 April 1981 in Tallinn) is an Estonian percussionist, chamber musician and singer. Krigul studied flute, percussion instruments, clarinet and saxophone at the Nõmme Music School. After graduating from the Tallinn Music High School in 1999 he continued in percussion classes Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he graduated from in 2004 with a bachelor's degree and in 2006 in master's degree. In 2000, he reached to the final in Eurovision Young Musicians. The same year, he founded the percussion ensemble PaukenfEST. He is a member of chamber choir Voces Musicales, and he is a bass singer of sacral music ensemble Heinavanker.
