865 Zubaida is an elongated, stony background asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt. It was discovered on 15 February 1917, by astronomer Max Wolf at the Heidelberg Observatory in southwest Germany, and given the provisional designations and . The uncommon L-type asteroid has a rotation period of 11.4 hours and measures approximately in diameter. It was named after Zobeide, a character in the opera '' Abu Hassan'' by Carl Maria von Weber (1786–1826). Orbit and classification ''Zubaida'' is a non-family asteroid of the main belt's background population when applying the hierarchical clustering method to its proper orbital elements. It orbits the Sun in the inner asteroid belt at a distance of 1.9–2.9  AU once every 3 years and 9 months (1,373 days; semi-major axis of 2.42 AU). ''Zubeidaa'' is a 2001 Indian film directed by Shyam Benegal and written by Khalid Mohammed. It stars Karisma Kapoor, Rekha, Manoj Bajpayee, Surekha Sikri, Rajit Kapoor, Lillete Dubey, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, and Shakti Kapoor. A.R. ''Zoebaida'' (Perfected Spelling: ''Zubaida'') is a 1940 film from the Dutch East Indies directed by Njoo Cheong Seng. A romance set in Timor, it starred Njoo's wife Fifi Young and was the film debut of Soerip. Shot over a period of 27 days in a Dutch-owned studio, the film received middling reviews. It is likely lost. Plot A love story set in Timor, in which Zoebaida and her lover are forbidden from marrying by those in power. They can eventually unite as husband and wife. Production ''Zoebaida'' was directed by Njoo Cheong Seng, formerly of the theatre; it was his second film, following ''Kris Mataram''. The film's story was adapted from a stage play, also by Njoo, entitled ''Timoeriana''. According to the Indonesian film historian Misbach Yusa Biran, the film was targeted at lower-class audiences.
