Zmaj R-1
The Zmaj R-1 () was a twin-engined prototype bomber produced by Zmaj aircraft of the former Yugoslavia, designed in the 1930s. The aircraft remained a prototype due to a number of difficulties in testing. Design and development During 1936 at the Zmaj factory, Dušan Stankov, then technical manager, initiated the design and construction of a reconnaissance-bomber. After tests in the wind tunnel at Warsaw and acceptance by the Yugoslavian Air Force, the project was designated Zmaj R-1. The team of designers joining Eng. Djordje Ducić and a few young engineers who worked on the design completed the prototype before the beginning of a large aerospace workers strike in April 1940, with final assembly at the military part of the airport in Zemun. The first flight was on 24 April 1940, piloted by reserve Lieutenant Đura E. Đaković, a transport pilot with Aeroput. Ranger V-770
The Ranger V-770 was an American air-cooled inverted V12 engine, V-12 aircraft engine developed by the Ranger/Fairchild Engines, Ranger Aircraft Engine Division of the Fairchild Aircraft, Fairchild Engine & Aircraft Corporation in the early 1930s. Ikarus 215
The Ikarus 215 (Икарус 215 in Serbian) twin-engine plane, was a Yugoslav light bomber and a training aircraft of mixed construction, the prototype flew in 1949. It did not go into production. Hispano-Suiza 14AB
The Hispano-Suiza 14AB, a.k.a. Hispano-Suiza Type 80, was a 14-cylinder twin-row air-cooled radial engine. In 1929 the Hispano-Suiza company bought a license to produce the Wright Whirlwind engine. The technology from that engine was used to produce a number of different radial engines with greater displacements, power, and number of cylinders. The most significant of this series of engines was the 14AB, which was a very compact design with relatively good performance, and some 2,500 engines were produced.
