Zhuge is a town in Lanxi, Jinhua, Zhejiang, People's Republic of China. Many of the town's residents are the descendants of Zhuge Liang, especially in Zhuge Village. Lanxi, Zhejiang
Lanxi, alternately known as Lanchi and Lanki, is a county-level city under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Jinhua in west-central Zhejiang Province, east-central China. The city executive, legislature and judiciary are at Lanjiang Subdistrict (), together with the CPC and PSB branches. The town lies on the Lan River (Lanjiang), a tributary of the Fuchun River, both north-flowing; the Fuchun River empties into Hangzhou Bay. Jinhua
, alternately romanized as Kinhwa, is a prefecture-level city in central Zhejiang province in eastern China. It borders the provincial capital of Hangzhou to the northwest, Quzhou to the southwest, Lishui to the south, Taizhou to the east, and Shaoxing to the northeast. Its population was 7,050,683 as of the 2020 census including 1,463,990 in the built-up (or metro) area made of two urban districts (not including yet the satellite city of Lanxi, which has become essentially a suburban offshoot of Jinhua's main urban area). Jinhua is rich in red soil and forest resources. The Jinhua or Wu River flows through the Lan and Fuchun to the Qiantang River beside Hangzhou, which flows into Hangzhou Bay and the East China Sea. Zhejiang
Zhejiang ( or , ; , also romanized as Chekiang) is an eastern, coastal province of the People's Republic of China. Its capital and largest city is Hangzhou, and other notable cities include Ningbo and Wenzhou. Zhuge Liang
Zhuge Liang ( zh, t=諸葛亮 / 诸葛亮) (181 – September 234), courtesy name Kongming, was a Chinese statesman and military strategist. He was chancellor and later regent of the state of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. He is recognised as the most accomplished strategist of his era, and has been compared to Sun Tzu, the author of ''The Art of War''. His reputation as an intelligent and learned scholar grew even while he was living in relative seclusion, earning him the nickname "Wolong" or "Fulong", meaning "Crouching Dragon" or "Sleeping Dragon". Zhuge Village
Zhuge Village or Zhugecun () is a historic village located in Zhuge, Lanxi, Zhuge town (), Lanxi, Zhejiang, Lanxi, Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, China. Originally called Gaolong (), the village changed its name to Zhuge during the Ming Dynasty due to the prevalence of the Zhuge surname among the villagers. The residents claim they are the descendants of the famed Shu Han chancellor Zhuge Liang of the 3rd century CE. The village was designated a national heritage site in 1996, and contains relics which are 700 years old. Population "The majority of villagers living in Zhuge Village today constitute a full quarter of Zhuge Liang’s remaining 16,000 46th- to 55th-generation descendants."
