Zheng Yuli
Zheng Yuli (, born 1963) is a retired female badminton player from China. Career She earned a bronze medal as a semifinalist at both the 1985 IBF World Championships and 1987 IBF World Championships in women's singles, dropping three set matches in each case to her compatriots Han Aiping and Li Lingwei respectively. She won women's singles at the Japan Open (badminton), Japan Open in 1984 and at the Denmark Open (badminton), Denmark Open in 1984 and 1986. Zheng played on Uber Cup (women's international) China national badminton team, championship teams for China in 1986 Uber Cup, 1986 and 1988 Uber Cup, 1988. Since retiring from international competitions, Yuli has been living in Perth, Western Australia. She runs the An-Yu Badminton Academy. Zheng or zhèng (hanyu pinyin, Hanyu Pinyin) or Cheng (Wade-Giles) () is a Chinese surname and also the name of an Zheng (state), ancient state in today's Henan province. Badminton Asia Championships
The Badminton Asia Championships (formerly Asian Badminton Championships until 2006) is a tournament organized by governing body Badminton Asia to crown the best badminton players in Asia. The tournament started in 1962 and is held annually since 1991. The event had rotated between team and individual competitions before the team event became null since 1994. At the 2003 event however, there is a controversy when China decided to pull out from the tournament at the last minute. Head coach Li Yongbo said that the tournament did not award any ranking points for the 2004 Summer Olympics event and wanted to give his players more time to rest. Some of the top players were also willing to pull out from the tournament since the competitiveness of the event was low. Scotiabank Saddledome
Scotiabank Saddledome is a multi-use indoor arena in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The China national badminton team, is a badminton team that represents the People's Republic of China in international badminton team competitions. In addition to the first national team, there is also the second national badminton team of China. Immediately afterward, there is the China National Badminton National Youth Team. The Denmark Open, or formerly known as Danish Open, is an annual badminton tournament held in Denmark and organized by Badminton Denmark. The Denmark Open was part of the BWF Super Series Premier from 2011 to 2017. BWF categorised it as one of the five BWF World Tour Super 750 events per the BWF events structure since 2018. Li Lingwei
Li Lingwei (, born January 4, 1964) is a Chinese badminton player of the 1980s. She was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee in 2012, and in December 2016, she was elected Vice President of the Chinese Olympic Committee. Li is heavily involved in improving women’s participation and fair representation in sport. Early years Born in Lishui, Zhejiang, China, on January 4, 1964, Li Lingwei weighed only at birth. Worried about Li’s health, her mother encouraged her to participate in non-contact sports such as badminton but Li indiscriminately loved sports. During her childhood, Li impressed everyone with sporting results such as finishing in first place in the 400-meter run. In 1975 the 11-year-old Li Lingwei was selected to the Zhejiang Provincial Badminton Team; five years later in 1980, she won the National Youth Badminton singles competition and the adult group's doubles championship.
