Zhassulan Kydyrbayev
Zhassulan Kydyrbayev ( kz, Қыдырбаев Жасұлан; born 28 September 1992) is a Kazakh weightlifter. He achieved 179 kg in snatch and 229 kg in clean and jerk, giving him a gold medal total of 408 kg at the 2014 World Weightlifting Championships in his home town, in Almaty. Kydyrbayev had come back from a two-year doping ban only three days prior. He was serving a period of ineligibility from 11 November 2012 to 11 November 2014 after having tested positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol Stanozolol (Abbreviation, abbrev. Olympic Weightlifting
Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead: these are the snatch and the clean and jerk. The ''snatch'' is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion. The ''clean and jerk'' is a combination lift, in which the weight is first taken from the ground to the front of the shoulders (the clean), and then from the shoulders to overhead (the jerk). The World Weightlifting Championships is an event organised by International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). The first competition, held in March 1891, was won by Edward Lawrence Levy of England. 2015 World Weightlifting Championships
The 2015 World Weightlifting Championships were held in Houston, United States. The event took place from November 19 to 28, 2015. This event was, together with the 2014 World Weightlifting Championships, the first stage of the Qualification Process for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Stanozolol (Abbreviation, abbrev. Stz), sold under many brand names, is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication derived from dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
