Zec De La Rivière-Mitis
Zec de la Rivière-Mitis is a "zone d'exploitation contrôlée" (controlled harvesting zone) (zec) located in the municipality of parish of Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc (La Mitis), in La Mitis Regional County Municipality, in administrative region of Bas-Saint-Laurent, in Québec, in Canada. The course of Mitis River and Mistigougèche River have the status de zec de la Rivière-Mitis. This salmon river is administered by "La corporation de gestion de la pêche sportive de la rivière Mitis (CGPSRM)", which was established in 1993. The mandate was assigned to this Association by the Government of Quebec. The mission of the zec is oriented to exploitation and conservation of salmon of Atlantique. Sainte-Flavie is a parish municipality in the La Mitis Regional County Municipality of Quebec, Canada, located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, about northwest of Mont-Joli. Quebec Route 132
Route 132 is the longest highway in Quebec. It follows the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River from the border with the state of New York in the hamlet of Dundee (connecting with New York State Route 37 (NY 37) via NY 970T, an unsigned reference route, north of Massena), west of Montreal to the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and circles the Gaspé Peninsula. This highway is known as the Navigator's Route. It passes through the Montérégie, Centre-du-Québec, Chaudière-Appalaches, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie regions of the province. La Rédemption, Quebec
La Rédemption is a parish municipality in Quebec, Canada. History Before the founding of the municipality of La Rédemption, part of its bordering region was inhabited, a very long time ago, by a group of natives whose certain signs seem to indicate their presence near the current Chemin du Portage and of rang 8, at the mouth of the Rouge River on the Mitis River. The Rouge and Mitis rivers were a source of food and an important navigation route between the St. Lawrence and the Baie des Chaleurs. The various native clans had to portage through the falls and rapids to the lakes located upstream (now a single lake named Mitis) of the Mitis River and then down the Patapédia-Est then Patapédia rivers and, from there, choose other networks depending on your destination or continue on the Restigouche and the Matapédia to its mouth which is at the junction between New Brunswick and Quebec. Saint-Joseph-de-Lepage is a parish municipality in La Mitis Regional County Municipality in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada. It is located 5 km south-east of Mont-Joli in the Matapédia River Valley. The village is 350 km north east of Québec city and 360 km west of Gaspé. The nearest towns are Mont-Joli, and Rimouski which lies 40 km to the south-east.
