Zain Al Rafeea
Zain Al Rafeea ( ar, زين الرافعي, born 10 October 2004) is a Syrian-born Norwegian actor. He is best known for his starring role in the 2018 Lebanese film ''Capernaum'', which won the Jury Prize at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Life and career Al Rafeea was born in Daraa, Syria in 2004 before his family moved to Lebanon in 2012. A Syrian refugee, he grew up in the slums of Beirut with his parents. He was 12 and illiterate during the production of ''Capernaum''. He was not trained as an actor. Al Rafeea's ''Capernaum'' character, Zain, is named after him. In November 2018, director Nadine Labaki reported Al Rafeea's situation had changed: Al Rafeea began attending school in Hammerfest. 2018 Cannes Film Festival
The 71st annual Cannes Film Festival was held from 8 to 19 May 2018. Australian actress Cate Blanchett acted as President of the Jury. The Japanese film ''Shoplifters'', directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, won the Palme d'Or. Asghar Farhadi's psychological thriller '' Everybody Knows'', starring Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz and Ricardo Darín, opened the festival and competed in the Main Competition section. It was the second Spanish-language film to open Cannes, following Pedro Almodóvar's '' Bad Education'', which screened on the opening night of the 2004 festival. The official festival poster features Jean-Paul Belmondo and Anna Karina from Jean-Luc Godard's 1965 film '' Pierrot le Fou''. Hammerfest (; sme, Hámmerfeasta ) is a municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. Hammerfest is the northernmost town in the world with more than 10,000 inhabitants. The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide Awards
The Lebanese Movie Awards known as The LMAs, is an award ceremony recognizing the best Lebanese & International cinematic achievements in the film making industry. The LMAs honors these films both in their artistic and technical aspects with categories including Best Lebanese Motion Picture, Best Directing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, among others. The award was first presented in 2014, at Vox Cinemas, before finally moving in 2018 to The Casino Du Liban, a lush and luxurious venue hosting the ceremony so far.
