Zaaki
Zaaki (foaled 15 February 2015) is a British bred and Australian trained thoroughbred racehorse that has won multiple Group One races. Background Ahmad Alotaibi bought Zaaki for 40,000 Guineas at the 2016 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale out of the Staffordstown draft. Racing career Originally trained by Mohamed Moubarak, Zaaki went winless from 4 starts in the 2017 season. In 2018 he was transferred to the stables of Sir Michael Stoute and was successful at his first start for his new trainer on the 21 April at Thirsk. In 2019 he won the Strensall Stakes at York, the Diomed Stakes at Epsom and the Paradise Stakes at Ascot. Zaaki was sold at the 2020 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale for 150,000 Guineas. He was purchased by Blandford Bloodstock with the intention to be raced and trained in Australia. Diomed Stakes
The Diomed Stakes is a Group races, Group 3 Flat racing, flat Horse racing, horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged three years or older. It is run at Epsom Downs Racecourse, Epsom Downs over a distance of 1 mile and 113 yards (1,713 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late May or early June. The event is named after Diomed, the inaugural winner of Epsom's most famous race, the Epsom Derby. It was established in 1971, although it could be regarded as a continuation of a previous event, the St James Stakes. Strensall Stakes
The Strensall Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged three years or older. It is run at York over a distance of 1 mile and 177 yards (1,771 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in August. History The event is named after Strensall, a village located several miles to the north of York. It was formerly restricted to fillies, and it used to be contested over 7 furlongs. For a period it was classed at Listed level, and it was usually staged in early September. The race was opened to male horses and extended to its present distance in 1987. It was promoted to Group 3 status in 2003. The Strensall Stakes became part of the Ebor Festival in 2008, but that year's running was abandoned because of a waterlogged course. Paradise Stakes
The Paradise Stakes is a Listed flat horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged four years or older. It is run at Ascot over a distance of 1 mile (), and it is scheduled to take place each year in April. The race was first run, as the Chobham Conditions Stakes, in 1995. It was given its current name and awarded Listed status in 2004. Since 2019 the official title has indicated that the race should be considered as a trial for the Queen Anne Stakes, run at the Royal Meeting over the same course and distance in June. The race title was originally used for a different race, now called the Sagaro Stakes, which is run at the same Ascot meeting. Leroidesanimaux (September 27, 2000 – May 27, 2016) was a Thoroughbred racehorse who competed in Brazil and was an Eclipse Award winner in the United States. Background His name was four French-language words combined. ''Le roi des animaux'' translates as "The king of the animals." Bred by Haras Bage Do Sul at Aceguá, Rio Grande do Sul, he was out of the mare Dissemble and sired by Candy Stripes who also sired Invasor, the horse ranked No.1 in the world for 2006. Sir Michael Stoute
Sir Michael Ronald Stoute (born 22 October 1945) is a Barbadian British Thoroughbred horse trainer in flat racing. Career Stoute, whose father was the Chief of Police for Barbados, left the island in 1964 at the age of 19 to become an assistant to trainer Pat Rohan and began training horses on his own in 1972. Jamie Lee Kah (born 7 December 1995) is an Australian jockey. Since October 2020 she has been the world's top-ranked female jockey. In 2020/21 she became the first jockey to ride 100 winners in a Melbourne Metropolitan racing season. Life and career Jamie Kah's parents John and Karen are former speed skaters who represented Australia at the Winter Olympics. She grew up in Mount Pleasant in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, where she began working at a friend's stables when she was 13.
