Leroidesanimaux (September 27, 2000 – May 27, 2016) was a Thoroughbred racehorse who competed in Brazil and was an Eclipse Award winner in the United States. Background His name was four French-language words combined. ''Le roi des animaux'' translates as "The king of the animals." Bred by Haras Bage Do Sul at Aceguá, Rio Grande do Sul, he was out of the mare Dissemble and sired by Candy Stripes who also sired Invasor, the horse ranked No.1 in the world for 2006. George DeBenedicty (born June 12, 1949) foundePegasus Realty & Associates, Inc.in Ocala, Florida, in 1982. Since then he has sold over $600 million of farms, training centers and acreages; becoming the leader in equine property sales. DeBenedicty owns and operates American Eagle Farm in Ocala, races his thoroughbred race horses on both the East and West coast, is very involved in horse breeding and is also involved in the hunter/jumper show circuit. Early life DeBenedicty was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. At age 16 he won the Hungarian modern pentathlon championships. Blushing Groom (8 April 1974 – 6 May 1992) was a French champion Thoroughbred horse racing, racehorse and sire (horse), sire. Background He was bred by American businessman John McNamee Sullivan and was raced by Aga Khan IV, HH Aga Khan IV. A descendant of Nearco, Blushing Groom was sired by Red God and out of the mare Runaway Bride. He was trained by François Mathet in France. Candy Stripes (April 12, 1982 – February 28, 2007) was an American thoroughbred race horse and sire. A descendant of the great Nearco through his sire, Blushing Groom, he was out of the mare Bubble Company, a granddaughter of the 20th Century's greatest sire of sires, Northern Dancer. Candy Stripes is best known as the sire of 2007 American Horse of the Year, Invasor, and the 2005 American Champion Male Turf Horse, Leroidesanimaux. Candy Stripes was also the broodmare sire of the unbeaten, Candy Ride. Bred in Kentucky by Allen Cowen, Candy Stripes raced in France, winning two of six races and running second in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (Fr-I). He was returned to North America in 1986, then was sent to Argentina two years later to stand at stud. American Champion Male Turf Horse
The American Champion Male Turf Horse award is an American Thoroughbred horse racing honor. The award originated in 1953 when the ''Daily Racing Form'' (DRF) named Iceberg II their champion. The Thoroughbred Racing Association (TRA) added the category in 1967. The organisations disagreed only once, in 1968. In 1971 it became part of the Eclipse Awards program and is awarded annually to a Colt or Gelding, regardless of age, for their performance on grass race courses. The ''Daily Racing Form'', the Thoroughbred Racing Associations, and the National Turf Writers Association all joined forces in 1971 to create the Eclipse Award. Invasor (foaled August 3, 2002) is a Thoroughbred racehorse bred in Argentina by Haras Clausan (Haras Santa Ines). The winner of the 2005 Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, Triple Crown in Uruguay, he was later purchased by Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheik Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who paid approximately US$1.4 million for the horse.
