The 2014 Quebec general election was held on April 7, 2014 to elect members to the National Assembly of Quebec. Philippe Couillard (; born June 26, 1957) is a Canadian business advisor and former neurosurgeon, university professor and politician who served as 31st premier of Quebec from 2014 to 2018. Lise Thériault (born January 7, 1966) is a former Canadian politician. She is a former Member of the National Assembly of Quebec representing the riding of Anjou–Louis-Riel in Montreal. She was the Deputy Premier of Quebec and Minister for the Status of Women in the Couillard government. Born in Montreal, Whissell received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the École polytechnique de Montréal in 1990.
