Yugadrashta
''Yugadrashta: The Visionary'' () is an Assamese language short film based on the life of reformer and freedom fighter Pitambar Deva Goswami starring Moon Borkotoky, directed by DGP of Assam Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta and produced by Swapnali Mahanta. Plot The film begins with the return by boat of Goswami and his secretary-biographer, Gangadhar Hazarika, to his home in Majuli from EID Majlis in 1956. He was the only Satra leader to attend. They discuss the 1914 ordination ceremony of Pitambardev as Sattradhikar of the Garmur Satra, the monastery of a celibate order in Majuli. The ceremony and the heritage of the Satra tradition appear in flashback. They agree that society's rules are not ordained by God, and a person's worth should be judged by their sense of justice. Anurag Saikia
Anurag Saikia (born in December 1988) is an Indian film score composer , music director , music producer and instrumentalist from Assam, India. He is one of the youngest composers to be awarded with Rajat Kamal for Best Non-Feature Film Music Direction for the film Yugadrashta. His mother Dipali Saikia, is an All India Radio artist and teacher and his father Dr. Anil Saikia is an academician, who was conferred the ''Pratima Barua Pandey memorial Award'' on 27 December 2011 for his contributions towards the preservation and popularization of folk culture and music of the State of Assam. After completing graduation from Cotton College, Anurag was admitted into the ''Swarnabhumi Academy of Music (SAM), Chennai.'' One of the latest movies he composed music for, is Thappad. Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta
Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta (Assamese: ভাস্কৰ জ্যোতি মহন্ত) is a 1988 batch (41RR) IPS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre. He is the current Director General of Assam Police, and had previously served as the special Director General of Border. Education Mahanta did his matriculation from Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sivasagar in the year 1977 and achieved all Assam second rank in the higher secondary examination with highest mark in Economics from Vivekanda Vidyalaya, Digboi. Pitambar Deva Goswami
Pitambar Deva Goswami (10 June 1885 – 20 October 1962) was a spiritual leader and social reformer in the Indian state of Assam. At age six, he was accepted into the monastic order of the Garamur Satra. Goswami was schooled in Sanskrit by Nityanandadeva Bhagawati Vidyavagish in the satra. When he was 21, he was appointed Satradhikar (head priest) of the Garamur Satra after the death of Jogachandra Deva Satradhikar Goswami. In addition to studying Sanskrit grammar, literature, philosophy, religion and theology, Goswami taught himself English and modern Assamese literature. He learned Ayurveda, took lessons in vocal and instrumental classical music (sitar, violin and harmonium) and invited experts from Calcutta to the satra. Quit India Movement
The Quit India Movement, also known as the August Kranti Movement, was a movement launched at the Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee by Mahatma Gandhi on 8th August 1942, during World War II, demanding an end to British rule in India. After the failure of the Cripps Mission to secure Indian support for the British war effort, Gandhi made a call to ''Do or Die'' in his Quit India movement delivered in Bombay on 8 August 1942 at the Gowalia Tank Maidan. The All India Congress Committee launched a mass protest demanding what Gandhi called "An Orderly British Withdrawal" from India. Even though it was at war, the British were prepared to act. Bodo People
Boro (बर'/बड़ो ), also called Bodo, is the largest ethnolinguistic group in the Assam state of India. They are a part of the greater Bodo-Kachari people, Bodo-Kachari family of ethnolinguistic groups and are spread across northeastern India. They are concentrated mainly in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam, though Boros inhabit all other districts of Assam and Meghalaya. Karbi Anglong district is one of the 34 administrative districts of Assam in India. Diphu is the administrative headquarter of the district.
