Yuan Yechun
Yuan Yechun (born 21 March 1997), also known as Carl Yuan, is a Chinese professional golfer. He competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Yuan has become well-known for his unusual style and in particular his unique follow through. Amateur career Yuan played college golf at the University of Washington for three years. While at Washington, he won the Pacific Northwest Amateur in 2016. Yuan competed in the 2018 Asian Games. He place tied for 10th in the men's individual competition and took silver in the men's team event alongside Jin Cheng, Chen Yilong, and Zhang Huachuang. Professional career Yuan turned professional in 2018. He competed on the PGA Tour China in 2018 and won the Qingdao Championship. Since 2019, he has played on the Korn Ferry Tour. Jin Cheng
Jin Cheng (, (born 6 March 1998) is a Chinese amateur golfer. In September 2014, Jin became the first amateur to lead a PGA Tour China event. In November 2014, he won the Nine Dragons Open on PGA Tour China, becoming the first amateur to win on that tour. He birdied the 17th hole Sunday at Nine Dragons Golf Club while leader, Brazil's Lucas Lee (golfer), Lucas Lee, made three bogeys over his final three holes. Jin's victory in the 2014 Volvo China Junior Match Play Championship earned him entry into the Volvo China Open, a European Tour event. Jin has also played, and made cuts on, the OneAsia Tour and the Asian Tour. WGC-Match Play
The WGC Match Play, currently titled as the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play for sponsorship reasons, is a professional men's golf tournament that has been held since 1999. It is the only one of the World Golf Championships to have been contested using the match play format. Since 2016, it has been held at the Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas, United States. Previous names include WGC-Dell Match Play (2015), WGC-Cadillac Match Play (2014), WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship (2001–2013), and WGC-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship (1999–2000). Before moving to Austin it had been hosted in Arizona eight times, California eight times, and Australia once. WGC-Championship
The WGC Championship was a professional golf tournament that was held between 1999 and 2021. It was one of the three or four annual World Golf Championships until the number of WGC events was reduced to two following the 2021 season. Under sponsorship agreements, the WGC Championship was titled as the WGC-American Express Championship (1999–2006), when it was hosted at various locations in Europe and the United States; the WGC-CA Championship (2007–2010), then the WGC-Cadillac Championship (2011–2016), when it was hosted at Doral Golf Resort, Florida; and the WGC-Mexico Championship (2017–2020), when it was played at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico. Callum Tarren (born 2 October 1990) is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Tarren attended Radford University from 2011 to 2014. Professional career Tarren turned professional in 2015 and began to play on PGA Tour China. He won the PGA Tour China Order of Merit in 2018. 2018 PGA Tour China
PGA Tour China is a China-based men's professional golf tour as part of the PGA Tour's global expansion. The tour started in 2014. After a hiatus in 2017, the tour resumed in 2018. It is known as PGA Tour Series China. An earlier tour, the Omega China Tour, ran from 2004 to 2009. The United States-based PGA Tour started PGA Tour China in 2014, joining PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamérica as international developmental tours. Similar to the Canadian and Latinoamerica tours, PGA Tour China offers a path to the Korn Ferry Tour for top finishers. Peter Uihlein ( ; born August 29, 1989) is an American professional golfer who formerly played on the PGA Tour and the European Tour and now plays LIV Golf. He was a member of the victorious U.S. team at the 2009 Walker Cup, where he compiled a 4–0 match record. The men's individual golf event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held from 29 July to 1 August 2021 at the Kasumigaseki Country Club. 60 golfers from 35 nations competed in the event, which was won by Xander Schauffele of the United States. Background The first Olympic golf tournaments took place at the second modern Games in Paris 1900. Men's and women's events were held. Golf was featured again at the next Games, St. Louis 1904 with men's events (an individual tournament as well as a team event). The 1908 Games in London were also supposed to have a golf competition, but a dispute led to a boycott by all of the host nation's golfers, leaving only a single international competitor and resulting in the cancellation of the event. Qualification for Golf at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo was determined not by any form of qualifying tournament, but by the rankings maintained by the International Golf Federation. Qualification was based on world ranking (Official World Golf Ranking for men, Women's World Golf Rankings for women) as of 21 June 2021 (men) or 28 June 2021 (women), with a total of 60 players qualifying in each of the men's and women's events. The top 15 players of each gender qualified, with a limit of four golfers per country that could qualify this way. The remaining spots went to the highest-ranked players from countries that did not already have two golfers qualified, with a limit of two per country. WinCo Foods Portland Open
The WinCo Foods Portland Open was a golf tournament in Oregon on the Korn Ferry Tour. It debuted in August 2014 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, a suburb northwest of Portland. Northwest-based supermarket chain WinCo Foods was named as the title sponsor in June 2013. After a seven-year run, the tournament was removed from the Korn Ferry Tour schedule in 2021 due to WinCo Foods ending its title sponsorship. With the exception of 2020 (when the season was altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the Portland Open was always the last regular-season event on the Korn Ferry Tour.
