Yacouba Konaté
Yacouba Konaté (4 May 1953) is a curator, writer, art critic and professor of philosophy at the Université de Cocody in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. He is a member of l'Académie des Arts, des Sciences et des Cultures d'Afrique et des Diasporas in Abidjan and he leads the Africa Office of the Jean Paul Blachère's Foundation. In 1998, he was Fulbright Professor at Stanford University, between 2004–2008, he taught at l'École des hautes études en sciences sociales in France. In 2007, he taught at the Laval University in Canada and in 2007, he was a Carter Fellow at the University of Florida, Gainesville. In 2008, he became the president of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). He is expert on the cultural development of "European Union". Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast, also known as Côte d'Ivoire, officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, is a country on the southern coast of West Africa. Peter Eastman (artist)
Peter Eastman (born 1976) is a South African artist living in Cape Town. Education Eastman was born in 1976 and grew up in South Africa. He began his career as an antiquities restorer in London, United Kingdom. He also attended University of Cape Town's Michaelis School of fine art. Work In 2014 he began to focus on paintings of pensive and atmospheric forest-scapes, Eastman is also known for a distinctive monochromatic style. Images held in shallow relief depictions remain nearly invisible until the spectator is positioned correctly for light to throw the images into relief, reflecting changing tone and colour. Willie Bester (born February 29, 1956) is a South African painter, sculptor and collage artist. He is best known for his role in the protesting of the apartheid system through his artwork. Freddy Tsimba
Freddy Tsimba (born 1967) is a sculptor and visual artist from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has made sculptures from bullet casings collected on Congolese war battlefields. One of his artwork entitled ''Au-delà de l'espoir'' (Beyond the hope) was commissioned by the municipality of Ixelles in Brussels and installed on the corner of Chaussée de Wavre and Longue-Vie street in Matonge district. Jems Robert Koko Bi is an Ivorian sculptor. He was born in 1966, in Sifra, Ivory Coast. He studied Spanish History between 1986 and 1988 at the University of Abidjan. Between 1988 and 1995, he studied at Institut National Supérieur des Arts et de l'Action Culturelle (INSAAC) in Abidjan. Tapfuma Gutsa
Tapfuma Gutsa (born 1956) is a Zimbabwean sculptor. A native of Harare, Gutsa studied sculpture with Cornelius Manguma at the Driefontein Mission School, later becoming the first Zimbabwean recipient of a British Council award. The scholarship allowed him to study in London from 1982 until 1985, where he received a diploma in sculpture from City and Guilds of London Art School. Gutsa is unusual among Zimbabwean stone sculptors for the breadth of materials he uses in his work; his sculptures incorporate metal, paper, wood, and other foreign materials. His winning sculpture at the Nedlaw exhibition, 1987, comprised smouldering grass engulfing a wooden bird.
