Yuliya Anatoliyivna Krol ( uk, Юлія Анатоліївна Кроль, born 22 October 1998) is a Ukrainian cross country skier who has competed internationally since 2016. Career Krol started her international career in 2016 when she participated at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Norwegian Lillehammer. She finished 27th in 5 km freestyle race, 15th in sprint, and 28th in cross freestyle. She also took part in three FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships between 2016 and 2018 (with her best personal result being 30th in 5 km classical race in Swiss Goms in 2018) as well as two U23 World Ski Championships in 2019 and 2020 (with her best personal result being 34th in sprint in Finnish Lahti in 2019). She debuted at World Cup on February 18, 2017, in Estonian Otepää where she finished 65th in freestyle sprint. Otepää
Otepää (formerly Nuustaku) is a town in Valga County, southern Estonia, it is the administrative centre of Otepää Parish. Otepää is a popular skiing resort, popularly known as the "winter capital" of Estonia (in contrast to the "summer capital" Pärnu). During the 2005–2006 season it became the site for FIS Cross-Country World Cup events. The name "Otepää" means "Ott's Head" in South Estonian, where ''ott'' is an euphemism for "bear". Cross-country skiing at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the Kuyangshu Nordic Center and Biathlon Center in Zhangjiakou, China. A total of 296 quota spots (148 per gender) were distributed to the sport, a decline of 14 from the 2018 Winter Olympics. A total of 12 events were contested, six each for men and women. Qualification A maximum of 296 quota spots will be available to athletes to compete at the games. A maximum of 16 athletes can be entered by a National Olympic Committee, with a maximum of 8 men or 8 women. Tetyana Antypenko (née Zavalij, born September 24, 1981) is a Ukrainian cross country skier who has competed since 2000. She participated at 2006, 2010, 2014 Winter Olympics. Career Tetiana Zavaliy was born in a small town Uhroidy, Sumy Oblast, where she took up skiing in the third form of elementary schools, since it was the only one sport section in the town. At the FIS Cross-Country World Cup she debuted on February 14, 2004. Later she qualified for 2006 Winter Olympics. Her best personal result was 27th in 10 km classical race. She competed at 2005 World Championships which was for her the only one in the career until 2013. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships is a biennial nordic skiing event organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS). The World Championships was started in 1925 for men and opened for women's participation in 1954. World Championship events include nordic skiing's three disciplines: cross-country skiing, ski jumping, and nordic combined (the latter being a combination sport consisting of both cross-country and ski jumping).
