Youssef Al Hamidi
Youssef Al Hamidi (born December 16, 1977) is a Syrian boxer who was a decorated amateur in the Syrian army and is now a professional boxer in the UK. Amateur career Al Hamidi Claims to have had around 150 amateur fights. He won a bronze medal in the Army world national championships. He was Syrian Champion for 10 years as well as Arabic Champion at 57KG.Boxing monthly August 2008 Professional career Youssef has been regarded as a dangerous journeyman fighter with the ability to upset the odds. On May 5, 2008 he upset Manchester prospect Anthony Crolla. Al Hamidi then fought English Lightweight Champion John Murray at the Trent FM Arena in Nottingham on a few hours' notice. Orthodox (boxing)
In Combat sport, combat sports such as boxing, an orthodox stance is one in which the boxer places their left foot farther in front of the right foot, thus having their weaker side closer to the opponent. Because it favors the stronger, dominant side (often the right side; see laterality), the orthodox stance is the most common stance in boxing and MMA. It is mostly used by right-handed boxers. Many boxing champions have fought in an orthodox stance. Alternative stances The corresponding designation for a left-handed boxer is Southpaw stance, southpaw and is generally a mirror image of the orthodox stance. Anthony Crolla (born 16 November 1986) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2006 to 2019.. Retrieved 27 March 2017. He held the WBA lightweight title from 2015 to 2016, and challenged once for the unified WBA and WBO lightweight titles in 2019. At regional level, he held the British lightweight title from 2011 to 2012, and challenged once for the vacant Commonwealth lightweight title in 2013. John Murray (boxer)
John Murray (born 20 December 1984) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2003 to 2014. He held the English lightweight title from 2007 to 2008, the British lightweight title twice between 2008 and 2010, and the European lightweight title from 2010 to 2011. He also challenged once for the vacant WBA lightweight title in 2011. John is the brother of British former Olympian Joe Murray. Motorpoint Arena (originally the Nottingham Arena) is a multi-use indoor arena joined with the National Ice Centre in the Lace Market district of Nottingham, England. Huddersfield
Huddersfield is a market town in the Kirklees district in West Yorkshire, England. It is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Kirklees district.
