Michael Brodie (born 10 May 1974 in Manchester, England) is a former professional boxer who fought in the Super Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions. Boxing career Brodie boxed as an amateur before turning professional in October 1994, winning his first fight in Manchester, England, in which Brodie beat Warley Super Bantamweight Graham McGrath with a knockout in the fifth round on a card that included fellow Mancunian's Wahid Fats, Carl Smith and Carl Harney. Majority Decision
A majority decision (MD) is a winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and others sports involving striking. In a majority decision, two of the three judges agree on which fighter won the match, while the third judge indicates that neither fighter won (i.e., a "draw"). In boxing, each of the three judges allocates a score (round by round) for each fighter. If all scheduled rounds are completed (i.e., no knockout (technical included)), each judge totals the points for all rounds. If the same fighter scores more points than the other on two of the judges' scorecards, but the third judge scored equally for both fighters (a draw), the official victory is awarded to the agreed-upon (by a 2 to 1 'majority') fighter. Kieran Farrell (born 27 June 1990) is a British former professional boxer who fought at lightweight. He was trained by Bobby Rimmer in Manchester for his first eleven professional fights, winning eight on points and two by knockout. He then teamed up with Irish trainer John Breen where he engaged in another four paid contests including a lightweight Central Area title bout where he defeated previously unbeaten Joe Elfidh (7-0) by way of knockout in the fifth round. Terry Flanagan (born 11 June 1989) is a British professional boxer. He held the WBO lightweight title from 2015 to 2017, becoming the first Englishman to win a world title in that weight class. The Eventim Olympia (originally the Liverpool Olympia) is a venue in Liverpool, England, situated on West Derby Road next to The Grafton Ballroom. History The Liverpool Olympia was built in 1905 For Moss Empires Ltd by architect Frank Matcham as a purpose built indoor circus and variety theatre. The theatre was a response to the enormous success of Thomas Barrasford's Royal Hippodrome Theatre (4,000 capacity, built 1902, demolished 1984) which stood a very short distance away; the Olympia never managed to meet the success of the Hippodrome, and never managed a profit.
