Yoav Mordechai
Yoav (Poli) Mordechai ( he, יואב מרדכי; born March 25, 1964, in Jerusalem) is a retired major general in the Israel Defense Forces. He concluded his 36-year career in the IDF in 2018 as the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. Mordechai was recruited to the IDF in 1982 and served as a soldier and an officer in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade. Then he served in the Research Department in the Intelligence Directorate, and in an operational unit in the branch. In 2001 he was appointed to be chief of coordination and connection headquarters in Gaza, and later served as chief of civilian administration in the West Bank in the staff of the Government's Actions Coordinator in the Territories. From April 7, 2011, to October 14, 2013, Mordechai served as the IDF Spokesperson. Military Intelligence Directorate (Israel)
The Israeli Military Intelligence ( he, אגף המודיעין; ''Agaf HaModi'in''; lit. "the Intelligence Section"), often abbreviated to Aman ( he, אמ״ן), is the central, overarching military intelligence body of the Israel Defense Forces. Aman was created in 1950, when the Intelligence Department was spun off from the IDF's General Staff (the Intelligence Department itself was composed largely of former members of the Haganah Intelligence Service). Aman is an independent service, and not part of the ground forces, Navy or the Air Force. National Security College (Israel)
The National Security College ( he, המכללה לביטחון לאומי, haMichlala l'Bitachon Leumi, variously abbreviated as MBL, MABL, MBAL, MABAL), also translated as the National Defense College is a military education institution in Israel intended to provide education on the foundations of national security at an academic level in political and social issues. The college is intended for senior members of the all branches of the Israeli security forces. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) is a unit in the Israeli Ministry of Defense that engages in coordinating civilian issues between the Government of Israel, the Israel Defense Forces, international organizations, diplomats, and the Palestinian Authority. It is the main organ, remaining of the mostly defunct Israeli Civil Administration, which had governed the West Bank and the Gaza Strip between 1981 and 1994.
