Yeti (band)
Yeti were an English rock band, founded in 2004 by John Hassall, of The Libertines. Hassall met Brendan Kersey, Andrew Deian and Mark Underwood (formerly Harmony Williams) through mutual friends, and the line-up was completed when drummer Graham Blacow responded to a classified advertisement. The band is based in North London. Career Yeti began with Hassall as the main songwriter, but soon Underwood started writing and singing a few of his own (including lead-off track on ''One Eye on the Banquet'', "The Last Time You Go" and "Insect-Eating Man"), while Deian has also penned several tracks, including their single "Don't Go Back to the One You Love" and "Jermyn Girls". The NME compared the band's sound to "early" Beatles, The La's, The Kinks, The Byrds, The Coral, The Zombies, Love and early "pre-Rough Trade" Libertines. Their debut single " Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder" was released in March 2005, and sold out within 3 days. It reached top 30 in the UK Singles Chart. It ... Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Independent labels such as Flying Nun Records, Flying Nun began to promote the scene across New Zealand, inspiring key college rock bands in the United States such as Pavement (band), Pavement, Pixies (band), Pixies and R.E.M. Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. Foo Fighters was initially formed as a one-man project by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. Following the success of the eponymous debut album, Grohl (lead vocals, guitar) recruited a band consisting of Nate Mendel (bass guitar), William Goldsmith (drums), and Pat Smear (guitar). After a succession of lineup changes, including the departures of Goldsmith and Smear, the band formed its core lineup in 1999 consisting of Grohl, Mendel, Chris Shiflett (guitar), and Taylor Hawkins (drums). In 2005 Smear returned to the band and in 2017 Rami Jaffee joined the band performing the keyboards and piano. The Foxes (band)
The Foxes are an English indie rock band formed in 2006. They have entered the UK Indie Chart, UK Indie Singles Chart twice and have been mentioned in the NME magazine. The band released their début album "Last Of Many" in 2011 which was recorded at the Sawmills Studios in Cornwall, produced and mixed by John Cornfield. History In the summer of 2006 Nigel Thomas, at the time a mental health professional, and Alex Douglas formed the acoustic duo 'Rush Hour Soul' in London. With the addition of two band members and a name change to "The Foxes" the current line-up was formed: Thomas (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jonathan Bretman (lead guitar), Douglas (bass, backing vocals) and Stephen Wilde (drums).
