Yannic Cariah
Yannic Cariah (born 22 June 1992) is a Trinidadian cricketer who has played for Trinidad and Tobago in West Indian domestic cricket, as well as representing the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He has played for the West Indies cricket team since 2022. Biography He hails from a rural village of Coalmine, Sangre Grande. He was also mentored by former Trinidadian leg spinner Samuel Badree and also honed the skills of mastering the craft of leg spin by watching the videos of veteran leggie Shane Warne. He also worked on his batting skills by watching the videos of veteran batsman Brian Lara. Domestic career Cariah represented the West Indies under-19s at the 2010 Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was the eighth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup and took place in New Zealand. Since 1998, the tournament has been held every 2 years. This edition had 16 teams competing in 44 matches between 15 and 30 January 2010. These included the 10 ICC Full Members and 6 Qualifiers. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Kenya, but the International Cricket Council (ICC) moved it to New Zealand after an inspection in June 2009 found that it would be unrealistic to expect Kenya to complete preparations in time. 2016–17 Regional Four Day Competition
The 2016–17 Regional Four Day Competition was the 51st edition of the Regional Four Day Competition, the domestic first-class cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The competition ran from 11 November 2016 to 24 April 2017. The WCIB re-introduced day/night fixtures into the competition with six matches played as such. Six teams contested the tournament – Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands. Guyana won the competition, their third consecutive title, after beating the Windward Islands in their penultimate match. Kevin O'Brien (cricketer)
Kevin Joseph O'Brien (born 4 March 1984) is an Irish former international cricketer who plays for Leinster and Railway Union Cricket Club. On 16 August 2022, he announced his retirement from international cricket. He scored the fastest century ever in 50-over World Cup, coming from 50 balls against England on 2 March 2011. The Guyana Amazon Warriors is a franchise cricket team of the Caribbean Premier League based in Providence, Georgetown, Guyana. The team is the representative cricket team of Guyana in the Caribbean Premier League. It was one of the six teams created in 2013 for the inaugural season of the tournament. 2010–11 Regional Four Day Competition
The 2010–11 Regional Four Day Competition was the 45th domestic first-class cricket tournament held in the West Indies, it took place from 4 February 2011 – 9 April 2011. In addition to the seven Caribbean teams, the tournament also featured the England Lions. The tournament consisted of a round-robin that was followed by semi-finals where the top four teams competed. Although the Lions finished 3rd in the table, they were ineligible to play in the knock-out phase. Jamaica won the tournament after beating Combined Campuses and Colleges in the final, it was their 4th tournament win in succession and their 11th overall. Jamaica had advanced to the final after a controversial semi-final against Trinidad and Tobago; although the match was drawn, Jamaica advanced because the previous result in the league between the two teams ended in their favour. The Windward Islands cricket team is a cricket team representing the member countries of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The team plays in the West Indies Professional Cricket League (including the NAGICO Regional Super50) under the franchise name Windward Islands Volcanoes. The 2009–10 WICB President's Cup was the 36th edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The competition was played as a standalone tournament, with all matches held in Guyana. Eight teams contested the competition – the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands), and two development teams (Combined Campuses and Colleges and the West Indies under-19 side).
