Water Polo At The 2024 Summer Olympics
The water polo tournaments at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 11 August. Preliminary water polo matches will occur at Paris Aquatics Centre, with the final playoffs staged at the iconic Paris La Défense Arena. Similar to the previous edition, twenty-two teams (twelve for men and ten for women) will compete against each other in their respective tournaments. Qualification The International Olympic Committee and the World Aquatics (AQUA) have ratified and released the qualification criteria for Paris 2024. The host nation France reserves a direct quota place each in the men's and women's tournament with the remainder of the total quota attributed to the eligible NOCs through a tripartite qualification pathway. The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, scheduled for 16 to 29 July in Fukuoka, Japan, will produce the winners and runners-up of the men's and women's water polo tournament qualifying for Paris 2024. Paris La Défense Arena
Paris La Défense Arena (originally known as the U Arena) is a multi-use domed stadium in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris. Opened in October 2017, it was developed by the rugby union club Racing 92, and replaced Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir as their home field. It is one of the two multi-use domed stadiums to be built in Europe, along with Telenor Arena and is Europe’s largest indoor arena. Water Polo At The 2023 Pan American Games
Water polo competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games are scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 4. The venue for the competition is the Aquatic Center, in Santiago, Chile. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams (each consisting of up to 12 athletes) will compete in each tournament. This means a total of 192 athletes are scheduled to compete. The top team in each tournament not already qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics will qualify for the said event. 2024 World Aquatics Championships
The 2024 World Aquatics Championships, the 21st edition of the World Aquatics Championships, will be held in Doha, Qatar, from 2 to 18 February 2024. Originally scheduled to be held in November 2023, the championships were postponed until February 2024 in response to the rescheduling of the 20th edition of the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, from 2021 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and then again to 14 to 30 July 2023 due to travel restrictions and safety measures in place in Japan. 2023 World Aquatics Championships
The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, the 20th edition of the FINA World Aquatics Championships, will be held in Fukuoka, Japan, between 14 to 30 July 2023. Originally scheduled to be held in 2021, the championships were postponed until May 2022 in response to the rescheduling of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
