Ward 2 Etobicoke Centre is a municipal electoral division in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario that has been represented in the Toronto City Council since the 2018 municipal election. It was last contested in 2022, with Stephen Holyday being elected councillor. History The ward was created in 2018 when the provincial government aligned Toronto's then-44 municipal wards with the 25 corresponding provincial and federal ridings. The current ward is an amalgamation of the old Ward 3 (western section), the old Ward 4 (eastern section). 2018 municipal election Ward 2 was first contested during the 2018 municipal election. Then-Ward 3 incumbent Stephen Holyday was elected with 38.58 per cent of the vote. 2022 municipal election Stephen Holyday was comfortably re-elected in 2022 with 72.28 per cent of the vote. The 2006 Toronto municipal election took place on 13 November 2006 to elect a mayor and 44 city councillors in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In addition, school trustees were elected to the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest and Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud. Douglas Charles Holyday (born 1942) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. He is a former member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, representing the riding of Etobicoke—Lakeshore for the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario before being defeated by Peter Milczyn in the Ontario general election of 2014. Prior to his election to the legislature, Holyday was a longtime Toronto City Councillor and deputy mayor, representing Ward 3 in Etobicoke Centre, and was the last mayor of the suburban city of Etobicoke prior to the municipal amalgamation of Toronto.
