Wyongah
Wyongah is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. Wyongah is mostly residential, although there is a small shopping area in the suburb. The area is close to Wyong Hospital and is serviced by Busways route 81, 82 and 83 buses. Routes 81 and 82 run from Lake Haven to Wyong and Tuggerah via Wyongah (and return) while the 83 is a local service from Lake Haven to Wyongah. The Central Coast is a peri-urban region in New South Wales, Australia, lying on the Tasman Sea coast to the north of Sydney and south of Newcastle. The local government area of the Central Coast Council has an estimated population of 333,627 as of June 2018, growing by 1% annually. Comprising localities such as Gosford, Wyong and Terrigal, the area is the third-largest urban area in New South Wales and the ninth-largest urban area in Australia. Wyong is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. The district is a 640.55 km² urban and semi-rural electorate on the Central Coast. It covers part of Central Coast Council, including the towns of Wyong and Toukley. History Wyong was originally established in 1962. In 1973, it was replaced by Munmorah and a redistricted Gosford. Wyong () is a town in the Central Coast of New South Wales, located approximately 63 km SSW of Newcastle and 89 km NNE of Sydney. Established in 1888, it is one of the two administrative centres for the local government area. History Wyong is an indigenous word meaning either 'an edible yam' or 'place of running water'. William Cape was the first European settler to settle in the area and bring cattle and sheep into the district, on a land grant bordering Jilliby Creek in 1825. Gorokan, New South Wales
Gorokan is a List of Central Coast suburbs, suburb of the Central Coast (New South Wales), Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia.
