''Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone'' is the fourth studio album by English extreme metal band Akercocke. It was released independently on October 10, 2005, and on February 7, 2006 through Earache Records. This album is the first Akercocke release not to feature the original line-up of the band, with Matt Wilcock (ex-The Berzerker) instead of Paul Scanlan on guitar; though the majority of the material was co-written with Paul Scanlan before he was fired. Akercocke
Akercocke are an English extreme metal band from London, formed in 1997 by Jason Mendonça and David Gray. The band also features Paul Scanlan and Nathanael Underwood. History Akercocke's first album, '' Rape of the Bastard Nazarene'', was self-released by the band in 1999. Akercocke later signed to Peaceville Records, releasing ''The Goat of Mendes'' in 2001, which reached number 4 in Terrorizer's album of the year chart. In 2003 the album '' Choronzon'' was released, through Earache Records. This album was voted number 1 metal release of the year by Terrorizer. Blackened Death Metal
Blackened death metal (also known as black death metal) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal that fuses elements of black metal and death metal. The genre emerged in early 1990s when black metal bands began incorporating elements of death metal and vice versa. Earache Records
Earache Records is a British independent record label, music publisher and management company founded by Digby Pearson in 1985, based in Nottingham, England, with offices in London and New York. The label helped to pioneer extreme metal by releasing early grindcore and death metal records between the late 1980s and mid-1990s. Its roster has since diversified into more mainstream guitar music, working with bands such as Rival Sons, the Temperance Movement, Blackberry Smoke, Scarlet Rebels and the White Buffalo. ''Choronzon'' is the third studio album by English death metal band Akercocke. It was released on 4 November 2003, through Earache Records. Background The sample at the start of the album is from the opening scene of the ''Hammer House of Horror'' episode "Guardian of the Abyss". Release A promotional music video was released for the track "Leviathan", and was shot by ''Kerrang!'''s Paul Harries. Antichrist (Akercocke Album)
''Antichrist'' is the fifth studio album by English death metal band Akercocke, released in 2007. It is their third release on Earache Records and the first to feature Peter Benjamin on bass, having replaced Peter Theobalds. The limited edition super jewel case version (Limited to 8000 copies worldwide) includes two bonus tracks, these are covers of songs by Morbid Angel & Death. A video has been released for the song "Axiom". The lyrics "I believe that when I die, I shall rot, and nothing of my ego shall survive" from "Axiom" are taken from the writings of Bertrand Russell. Recording The preparations for the recording of ''Antichrist'' began in late November 2006. The band started recording at its own Goat of Mendes Studios in December. The Berzerker
The Berzerker are an extreme metal band from Melbourne and was formed in 1995. The band's music, heavily influenced by older death metal and grindcore, can be characterized as a fusion of these with speedcore, and gabber. The band's founding member Luke Kenny described the band's style as industrial death metal.
