Won-hwa Hong () is an engineer, professor, and university administrator in South Korea. As a professor in the Department of Architectural and Civil Engineering at Kyungpook National University (KNU), he took office as the 19th President of KNU, South Korea’s largest national university, in 2020.He has also served as the President of the Korean Council for University Education since April 2022. Early life and education Hong was born in Yecheon-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, and later moved to Daegu. Kyungpook National University
Kyungpook National University (경북대학교, abbreviated as KNU or Kyungdae, 경대) is one of ten Flagship Korean National Universities representing Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongbuk Province in South Korea. It is located in the Daegu Metropolitan City, which used to be the capital city of the Gyeongbuk Province, South Korea before being separated from the mother province. Gyeongsangbuk-do
