Wolfgang Wendland (born 9 November 1962 in Lünen, Germany) is a German musician, actor, film producer and politician. Wendland is lead singer of Die Kassierer, a German punk rock band. His films concern the regional problems of the town of Bochum and its environment and serve to promote his band and their videos, "Außenbordmotor" and "Das Mädchen mit den drei blauen Augen". In 2005, Wendland stood for leader of the German government for the Anarchist Pogo Party of Germany (APPD) using the slogans "work is shit" and "drinking, drinking". Lünen
Lünen is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located north of Dortmund, on both banks of the River Lippe. It is the largest town of the Unna district and part of the Ruhr Area. In 2009 a biogas plant was built to provide electric power to the city. Lünen is the first city in the world to receive electricity via public utility companies that is generated on the base of animal waste. Die Kassierer ("The Cashiers"), also Die mächtigen Kassierer ("The Mighty Cashiers"), are a satirical punk band from Bochum-Wattenscheid, Germany. The group was founded in 1985 by Wolfgang Wendland (vocals), Nikolai Sonnenscheiße (guitar), Volker Kampfgarten (drums, jazz guitar) and Mitch Maestro (bass guitar). The lyrics of ''Die Kassierer's'' songs are mainly about drugs, sex, violence, strange phenomenasuch as aliensand the region the band comes from. The Anarchistic Pogo Party of Germany (German: ''Anarchistische Pogo-Partei Deutschlands'', or 'APPD') is the self-declared party of the ''Pöbel'' (mob) and " social parasites". It was created in 1981 by two punks in Hannover and took part in the 1998 election to the Bundestag with the promise to pay the voters with free beer. Wattenscheid
Wattenscheid () is a Stadtbezirk of the city of Bochum. Until 1975, it was a separate town in the Ruhr area of North Rhine-Westphalia. Wattenscheid has a population of about 80,000 citizens. Some notable firms have their headquarters in there, such as Steilmann. History Wattenscheid is first mentioned in a church document from Werden Abbey (Kloster Werden in Essen) in AD 880, by the name of Villa Uattanscethe. The oldest church in Wattenscheid, St. Gertrud von Brabant, was built in the 9th century. From 1554, Wattenscheid was a member of the Hanseatic League. During the Thirty Years' War, the area was occupied by Spanish troops from 1623 to 1629. In 1633, imperial auxiliary troops plundered Wattenscheid, before Hessian and Swedish troops arrived.
