Die Kassierer
Die Kassierer ("The Cashiers"), also Die mächtigen Kassierer ("The Mighty Cashiers"), are a satirical punk band from Bochum-Wattenscheid, Germany. The group was founded in 1985 by Wolfgang Wendland (vocals), Nikolai Sonnenscheiße (guitar), Volker Kampfgarten (drums, jazz guitar) and Mitch Maestro (bass guitar). The lyrics of ''Die Kassierer's'' songs are mainly about drugs, sex, violence, strange phenomenasuch as aliensand the region the band comes from. Generally their lyrics are extremely satirical and therefore often misunderstood. ''Die Kassierer'' have been criticized for making what has been considered aggressive and socially as well as sexually disorienting music, but up to now only the album ''Habe Brille'' (I got glasses) has been officially indexed as harmful by the "Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien" (Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons). Bela B
Dirk Albert Felsenheimer (born 14 December 1962),''Die Ärzte. Ein überdimensionales Meerschwein frisst die Erde auf'', p. 80 better known under his stage name Bela B (formerly Bela B.), is a German musician, songwriter, actor and author, best known for being the drummer and one of the singers of punk rock band Die Ärzte. In 2006, he released his first solo album entitled ''Bingo''. He is also an actor and has done several voice-overs for television and film. Early life Dirk Albert Felsenheimer was born in Spandau, the westernmost borough of Berlin. He has a twin sister named Diana and his parents separated when he was five years old. Felsenheimer graduated from the Carlo-Schmid-Oberschule in Berlin. Georg Kreisler
Georg Kreisler (18 July 1922 – 22 November 2011) was an Austrian–American Viennese-language cabarettist, satirist, composer, and author. He was particularly popular in the 1950s and 1960s. From 2007 he lived in Salzburg, Austria, with his fourth wife, . He died there on 22 November 2011 "after a severe infection," according to his wife Barbara. Life Kreisler went to high school in Vienna, where he studied music theory, and learned to play violin and piano. In 1938, he was forced to flee with his parents due to increasing Nazi restrictions on Jews. In 1941, he married Philine Hollaender, daughter of Friedrich Hollaender and Blandine Ebinger. In 1943, he became an American citizen. He enlisted in the Army, trained at Camp Ritchie, and was stationed in Europe. He wrote songs for soldiers in Britain and France with the help of Marcel Prawy. Uwe Seeler
Uwe Seeler (; 5 November 1936 – 21 July 2022) was a German footballer and football official. As a striker, he was a prolific scorer for Hamburger SV and also made 72 appearances for the West Germany national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in German football history, Seeler was named one of FIFA's 100 greatest living players by Pelé in 2004. He was the first football player to be awarded the Great Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Sauerland () is a rural, hilly area spreading across most of the south-eastern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, in parts heavily forested and, apart from the major valleys, sparsely inhabited. Description and history The source of the Ruhr is near the town of Winterberg in the mountainous Sauerland region, at an elevation of approximately . Die Ärzte (; ) is a German rock band from Berlin. The band has released 14 studio albums. The group consists of guitarist Farin Urlaub, drummer Bela B and bass player Rodrigo González. All three write and perform their songs. History Early years Die Ärzte were formed in West Berlin in 1982 by Jan Vetter (alias Farin Urlaub, a pun on the expression "Fahr' in Urlaub", meaning "Go on vacation"), Dirk Felsenheimer (alias Bela B, referring to Dracula actor Bela Lugosi) and bassist Hans Runge, alias . Rodrigo González (musician)
Rodrigo "Rod" Andrés González Espíndola (born 19 May 1968) is a Chilean-born German musician known as the bassist and one of the singers of German rock band Die Ärzte. Early life González' parents were politically persecuted in Chile during the Pinochet dictatorship, and so were granted asylum in Hamburg. His family initially lived there on social benefits until his father found work. He completed his '' Abitur'' (school-leaving exams) at the Gymnasium Langenhorn. He has an older sister, Claudia, who also works as a musician (Universal González). As a teenager, González was a member of the band Die Erben. From 1986 to 1988, he played banjo in the Hamburg punk band Die Goldenen Zitronen, and from 1988 to 1989 he was the guitarist in the Rainbirds. Mambo Kurt
Mambo Kurt (born Rainer Limpinsel; 11 April 1967 in Hagen) is a German comedy and novelty act who performs covers of mainstream and classic rock hits. Mambo has performed at the Wacken Open Air festival and provides music for a German television show called ''Verona's World''. Mambo Kurt performs on a home organ and changes the style of the song into a Bossa Nova, Samba or Polka style song. He also recruits his nearly 80-year-old home organ teacher, Heidi Schultz, to sing covers of the Sex Pistols, Anarchy in the UK, and the Rolling Stone's "Sympathy for the Devil" on his latest live album, ''Sun of a Beach''. Punk Pathetique
Punk pathetique is a subgenre of British punk rock (principally active circa 1980–1982) that involved humour and working-class cultural themes. Origin The name of the genre was coined by ''Sounds'' journalist Garry Bushell, who actively championed many of its exponents. Punk pathetique was initially an attempt to characterize a group of London bands that embodied Cockney culture with a Dickensian working class attitude. Musically, it was related to (and had crossover with) the Oi! subgenre. The cover of the 1980 Bushell/''Sounds'' compilation album ''Oi the Album'' described the record as featuring "ruck 'n' rollers and punk pathetiques".
